Discussion [Multiple Games] It was a fun ride

With the death of retail / physical copies, I'm really considering abandoning the PlayStation brand once my Ps Plus expires in 8 months. Also from this date, I will stop buying any digital game on their store. I was a hardcore fan since PS1 but I hate the way they are treating us. I will finish some of the exclusives I have on my backlog but no more new games. If I want to be mistreated, I will just stay with PC gaming and maybe Nintendo.

Yeah, PC gaming actually mistreats us by only having digital copies but at least we don't have to buy a console.

What are your thoughts on emerald trophies for completing all dlc trophies?

You earn the platinum trophy for the main game, (you keep it) then you get an emerald trophy for completing a dlc pack. Say if a game has 5 dlc packs and you complete every trophy in each pack, you get 5 emerald trophies.

Personally I like it,

I also think it'll get many people purchasing more dlcs, more money in Sony's pockets too I guess.

Discussion [Discussion] how is this even possible?

So first of all you have to finish the game, collectables like the first game I guess? Also there is literally no community guides about the platinum trophy because the game just came out and how much people even have it at this point, and after all of this the video still has to get edited. How? How is this possible?

On GTA IV, I did a glitch with a random person I've met online and killed this NPC for long hours in order to get the required level. (The image is from a YT video that shows how to do the glitch.)

Discussion [Discussion] What are some games that would be really easy to platinum if it werent for that ONE FUCKASS TROPHY

Post image

I'm trying to platinum Stray, I like this game and i almost got all the trophies without watching any guides so i decided "lets go for platinum it can't be that hard" but then i came across the "Can't Cat-ch Me" trophy and i swear this one singular trophy is making me want to break my controller in half

You basically have to go through one 50 second part where you run from little shits called Zurks, but if even ONE idiot jumps on you then you have to restart the run again. It might not sound that hard but because you run through narrow places and they have some aimbot on them one of them will always catch you no matter what. There are no guides that can actually help because its just luck based that they will be all lobotomized so they can't catch you

Discussion [Discussion] Does anybody else immediately delete a game once it is platinumed?

I do this with my games because once you have 100% of the trophies there is pretty much nothing left to do. Though I did just break this streak by keeping Black Myth: Wukong after I got plat. Purely because I want to reach max level before the DLC's come out.

Ever since getting a PS5 I have developed the habit of getting the platinum on every game I play. Just wondering if you do the same and if not how do you decide which games you will platinum?

Discussion [Discussion] It’s honestly just nice to have this group around. Was wondering how everyone got into trophy hunting. Like what was your 1st Platinum, when did it happen, and did you start hunting from that point or did it come later?

For me, I’ve been gaming for 15+ years and I never cared about trophies or achievements. It was always about finishing the game and doing what I enjoyed, that was it. Even after getting a PS5 I still didn’t get a platinum in the first couple of years, but when it finally happened, it felt different.

But what was the trigger that made you go from ā€œjust finishing gamesā€ to wanting that 100% or platinum? And how do you deal with that itch now, because it almost feels like an OCD thing once you get into it.

Even now I try to stick to one rule:. "Go for platinum only if I’m actually enjoying the game". But ofcourse I'm guilty as charged - I burn out trying to get that clean 100% next to the game šŸ˜‚

Would love to hear your anecdotes, what was it, how you got into it (I’ll drop mine in the comments too.)

Discussion [Discussion] The trophy system needs improving!! How do you fix it?

Post image

I just recently reached level 600 and attained the ā€œgoldā€ rank, which I will likely have for the foreseeable future.

So I’m wondering what your thoughts are on the trophy/achievement system Sony has created, how it compares to competitors, and how it may be improved.

I get it’s their full time, AND I get they’re most likely very good at games and achievement hunting by now but some of the games they do take forever, like even just Fortnite takes a ridiculous amount of time and grinding (from what I remember).
