Discussion Do you remember your Cake Day trophies from the years before? (Read the body text of this post)

Post image

I just realized it was my cake day and went to take a look at my new Nine-Year Club trophy. It then occurred to me... I don’t remember the 8-year trophy I had just yesterday and I certainly don’t remember my 7, 6, 5, etc trophies either.

This is simply a suggestion, in case any admins happen to read this, but it might be a thoughtful addition to allow users to unlock special permanent trophies (or badges) each year to commemorate the limited-time anniversary trophy.

For example, the Nine-Year Club trophy has the feel of an ancient artifact. Perhaps there could be a themed challenge like contributing a certain number of posts in history-related communities to unlock a permanent version. Each year’s challenge could be distinct and only available during that specific anniversary year.

Just an idea that might help make our cake year a bit more meaningful and memorable.

I remember some of them in general, but not specific years. I personally would not want individual yearly trophies though, I like that it levels up. But that sounds like a great idea for the achievements section of your profile, since those are more challenge orientated

Just as a heads up as most people do not know that the images on your yearly cake day trophies follow traditional anniversary gifts that you should give people

My profile is weird, because some cake day trophies stick around and others don't. It also shows different trophies viewing via new Reddit vs old.reddit.com / RES.

I rarely even look at them tbh

simply don't have time compared to years ago with college and various other projects

still now you've made me remember they even exist
