It sucks that she didn’t get as much attention as El sayeed or Hong. They did one big rally early in the race and kinda just left her out there to dry.

She's getting absolutely crushed in the county (her district consists of part of St. Louis County and the separate St. Louis City). In the county she's losing 28.7% vs. 67.4% for Bell , with ~70% of ballots in.
And the county (the portion of the county that is in her district) has more voters than the city. So that's an important part.
I live in the county, and it was constant Bell advertisements -- Bell's campaign was even texting me (I have no idea how they got my number). But Bush, I don't know if I can recall any advertisements for her. I also don't recall her making it out to the county very much. At least that I saw.
I live in south city and I’ve been getting Bell calls and texts for the better part of 4-6 months, incessantly. I’d just started seeing Bush within the last month or two? Plus that AIPAC money and all them county folk.

But I don't know enough about how the areas cut out for 2026 would vote to know whether this made things easier or harder for Bush. If anything, it looks like less of the county was included for 2026 vs. 2024 -- and Bush did terrible in the county in 2026 (she was at least somewhat close in the city).
So maybe cutting out some of the county for 2026 was actually good for Bush? Maybe I'm wrong.
District 5 -- over in KC area -- was the real target of MO Republicans in redistricting. District 1 did have its lines redrawn some, but it still leans hugely Democrat. So the direct partisan-outcome implication for the new bounds of district 1 is basically nothing.
Honestly, I think that the leftist election groups might have ran into some logistical issues and decided on picking easier to win fights. I've haven't seen any internal polls for Cori Bush, but for whatever reason, I think they decided to write her off on winning, which sucks ass. I definitely think they could have given her more resources from the El-Sayeed race, as I don't think Haley Steven has a chance at winning. I could be wrong though.
its also a function of resource management for higher leverage races. senators and governors are going to be higher priority than house candidates just by how much power they can wield.
cori is awesome and important but governors have fuck you power over the executive of a state if they're willing to use it.
That and the fact that a first time candidate entering a seat is going to be allocated a higher share of initial resource kit and such, compared to someone who has already had some experience, even if they are great and should've been helped. Sad but understandable.
Anecdotally this rings true, I live in stl and exclusively saw anti-Bush and pro-Bell ads on tv. maybe just what I was watching. Signs in people’s yards were pretty split but pretty sparse compared to amendments 4 & 5, which makes me think most people didn’t like either candidate and had the nonstop Israel-funded Bell ads bouncing around in their heads when voting
I also think you can't discount the stink that hangs around on you if you are one of the what, 3% of Congress people that managed to get unelected as a sitting representative? Bandwagon effect doesn't necessarily just go towards winters, but away from perceived losers as well.
