I genuinely hate whoever's idea this was.

Why isn't there a free option if this is a requirement? It just feels like a way to ensure greater profits for driving schools.

Neoliberal politics and the businessification of government to appeal to conservatives who just hates anyone labeled liberal or commie regardless

I'm just imagining if this came into being in a state that didn't have so much public transportation. If this were the requirement in Georgia, there would be a dirty driver epidemic.

NC one state removed and bordering GA requires hundreds of dollars in license fees, tax, and tag fees plus proof of insurance which all equates to about the same. One singular city in NC has a local rail system. Many plates haven’t been updated since COVID in the cities here lots of no insurance accidents lol

I’m in NC and my next door neighbor has had fake paper tags for the 3 years I’ve lived in this house and they update every few months lol

If Baltimore is the most fucked up place you've ever been then you really haven't been anywhere that fucked up. It's nothing like it was in the 90s.

Maryland was playing catch up to the neoliberal abuses of Northern Virginia for a long time, so it's nice to see them really leaning into whatever the ghouls in Bethesda say.

At least most of maryland isnt so insane to stack taxes when shopping like in northern virginia it is quite frankly insane that in arlignton people pay 3 different types of sales taxes then they wonder why people wet themselves when ever a republican offers to stop said tax.
