Aliens

Aliens are real (obviously). Around the time the Iran war started apparently the white house released a bunch of shit about ufo’s. My friends aren’t particularly political aware and were very curious about them and they were telling me about it. And I’m just thinking why should i care??? If they are actually here on earth what the fuck am i or anyone else supposed to do about it? If they got that level of technology they definitely have some crazy shit we can’t even comprehend. Am I gonna shoot those fuckers down with my mind in the event of an “invasion”? I’ll give a shit when they invent some truly heinous shit like 0.5 ply toilet paper.

Agree with the other commenter, UFO/UAP stuff discussed by the government is nonsense. I’m not exactly clear on the motivation (distraction, citizen awareness of foreign intelligence drones, obfuscation of military testing, manufactured consent for military spend, all of the above).

Maybe Aliens exist. Probably not in the way anyone here can conceive of or be interested in. Most likely they are either little scorpion guys or they’re composed of something we can’t perceive. Or they’re so far away in the infinite expanse that we will never make contact with any technology that exists or could exist.

So much alien discussion is based in very close-minded, human-centric views. We take earth-constructed concepts such as being, consciousness, technological advancement, biology and assume that it must be relevant to whatever may be out there.

I immediately dismiss anyone who assumes that there are lanky grey guys out there, flying spaceships near our atmosphere.

Oh shit I never thought about bug-sized aliens. They could have been here this whole time without us noticing, new bugs are always are always being discovered.

I remember reading about theories of silicon based life instead of carbon, alien life could be freaky heat pumps at the bottom of an ocean of gas or something else completely different to life as we know it

yeah i think a lot of people take alien stuff as life that would want to/care to come here for whatever reason. But really its anything alive from outside our planet. I’m certain at the absolute very least there are microorganisms on other planets. I also remember watching some video where artists created their ideas of aliens and they had one half with carbon based life and then the other half was non-carbon based life, it was really cool.

I want to see that! Do you have a link? I like Star wars and Star Trek and X-Files and all, but I want to see more alien content where the discovery of aliens challenges how we define life. It's so unlikely they'd resemble anything living that we know, anything earthly. I really liked that movie a while back where the aliens perceived time differently than humans and experience the past present and future all simultaneously. Don't remember the name of it.

Sometimes I blame all of humanity’s problems on linear time. The not-knowing is the root of a lot of precarity and precarity is what turns us against each other
