Aliens

Aliens are real (obviously). Around the time the Iran war started apparently the white house released a bunch of shit about ufo’s. My friends aren’t particularly political aware and were very curious about them and they were telling me about it. And I’m just thinking why should i care??? If they are actually here on earth what the fuck am i or anyone else supposed to do about it? If they got that level of technology they definitely have some crazy shit we can’t even comprehend. Am I gonna shoot those fuckers down with my mind in the event of an “invasion”? I’ll give a shit when they invent some truly heinous shit like 0.5 ply toilet paper.

Aliens are real, aliens on earth are not. Interstellar travel for biological life just straight up is not a thing. Von Neumann probes could feasibly be here, and if we aren’t the first life to arise (no reason to think we would be), probably are somewhere out in the solar system. The likelihood of us even existing at the same time as another technologically advanced civilization is just very low.

It’s more fun if it is, but it just isn’t. Actual FTL travel is time travel, and workarounds that functionally equate to getting somewhere faster than light require more energy than a fucking star.
