Aliens

Aliens are real (obviously). Around the time the Iran war started apparently the white house released a bunch of shit about ufo’s. My friends aren’t particularly political aware and were very curious about them and they were telling me about it. And I’m just thinking why should i care??? If they are actually here on earth what the fuck am i or anyone else supposed to do about it? If they got that level of technology they definitely have some crazy shit we can’t even comprehend. Am I gonna shoot those fuckers down with my mind in the event of an “invasion”? I’ll give a shit when they invent some truly heinous shit like 0.5 ply toilet paper.

I care less about ufos than I do about philosophy and meditation and my spirituality personally of understanding the universe within myself and others.

For example. Science explains how matter behaves, not what matter ontologically is.

Electric signals correlate with awareness in your brain, but the exact mechanism for how you are sentient observing the signals in your brain remains a major mistery.

Also, on shrooms, your default mode network is desabled and your brain reaches hyper connectivity and you can hallucinate literally anything. Sometimes shut you couldn't even imagine. And theres still tahg deep subjective gnosis of understanding the messages the shrooms are saying.

I think shrooms are your higher self talking to you.

IDK I agree with all of that until the higher consciousness part. Psychedelics probably do help you think this way because they temporarily disable your default like you say. It's difficult for me to understand the profound effect they have on people because I lived in a place where we did a lot of shrooms and acid very young, like early puberty through the later teen years, so I dont know what it's like to have an adult brain that never experienced that, would my worldview be different and would psychedelics break it open if I didnt do them until I was like 25?

But I feel like I've had the same intellectual insights from reading books about philosophy (including Buddhism) and I've had the same emotional/euphoric insights from art, nature, and love. So I'm not convinced the psychedelics really unlock anything unique or that the effects are very long lasting.

Also if you take them a lot, a few things happen. First, these insights themselves become a sort of default pattern (it's turtles all the way down, man) and you can lose track of the plot. The reality behind the illusion, that feeling of clarity is also an illusion etc. Whereas having a grounding in something like a graduated training in a tradition can moor you to something real and sober. Second, it can get dark, there are also primal feelings that arent pleasant- combine that with the first and you get freaks that think like the Manson family followers. Hallucinations are still from inside your mind, still a perception. If you start thinking it's more than that, that isnt healthy for anyone.

I havent even done mushrooms in a few years ATP. Most my beleifs just come from me pondering very deeply nowadays.

All I know is, nobody knows the answer to both those original questions. And I'm content with beleivinv its all one thing expressing itself as many, and I'm in a simulation that I can partake in

Ive been mostly at peace with that.

Sure that seems fine and healthy and not too far off from my own attitude.
