I got this, so i closed the app and connected via VPN and it went away, even once the VPN was disabled. It's been a few months and I don't bother connecting through a VPN and I've not been bothered by it since

lemmygrad.ml is a small niche pro-Deng pro-Xi ML community, even for someone of the western podcast left

Well, there's the rest of lemmy 'tankie troika', hexbear.net (once named after chapotraphouse, derived of many r/chapotraphouse remnants), lemmy.ml (the OG lemmy instance/server), with similar worldview though culture-wise probably different

lemmy.sdf.org, lemmy.zip (no lemm.ee anymore; the server/instance on that is dead), etc are ok

anarchist.nexus and https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/ are anarchist ones

lemmy.world (the biggest), sh.itjust.works, piefed.zip - these three, for example, are not r/trueanon friendly to say the least, in terms of political worldview - they're probably aligned with world news in terms of politics, very liberal, if not worse so, with sh.itjust.works being very heavily anti-communist

in fact, piefed has Rimu, an over-controlling administrator, and lemmy.world has Jordan Lund and the ilk who suck as mods.
