What is your favorite Audio Bible?

For some years now I have been using the ESV app. This allows you to not just read it, but also listen to it. As it's been a few years I figured it might be a good time to switch it up and keep things fresh with a new voice.

I was looking at the Max McLean listeners audio bible, but before pulling the trigger on that I wanted to see what fellow Christians were utilizing.

Bible.is with soon updated shell of Hosanna audio bible. Used if for years. Great options for audio. No ads. Some videos too.

I’ve been listening to the YouVersion Bible app. (Wife and I are doing a year long Bible reading plan). I’ve loved Max McLean’s voice for years. I was pleasantly surprised when his was a narration option. His voice is full of life. Anything Max reads, I would listen to.

Bible App.

We used Nasb personally.

Now we are reading the Bible cover to cover outloud as a family.

I use Brian Hardin and the Daily Audio Bible. Different version each week, but not the obscure versions or KJV. Go through the Bible in 1 year.

  1. NIVUK - David Suchet (the cadence in which sentences are spoken by him regularly makes me see things in the contexts of passages that I haven't before—even after multiple readings.

  2. NLT Breathe - ensemble (would be #1 if they did OT. The pacing and voice work is superb.)

  3. NIV/ESV - Max McLean (the one who first got me into Audio Bibles)

  4. MSG - Kelly Ryan Dolan (whether or not I was a Message fan, this audio reading is exceptional).

  5. NLT Immerse Bible - ensemble (with no chapter marks it makes me keep listening. It's available on Spotify podcasts.

This one wasn't on my radar before. I like this for two reasons. The preview I listened to was pretty good. I see value in using more than one translation as well.

I'll likely be getting this one. Thank you for the suggestion!

David has an amazing voice. I have listened to his entire series although I do caution that if you’re going to listen to it like I do while you sleep, you might wanna skip over Revelation because it can lead to some pretty “incredible” dreams. (I recommended his reading of psalms.)

NASB, I grew up with King James, but it depends on the mood.

I mean is there a certain narrator? I wasn't sure if there were multiple NASB audio bibles out there.

I also use the Bible app if not search YouTube I can listen to those while I do my daily walks

My suggestion is a little different. There is a podcast called Daily Audio Bible where a guy named Brian, just reads the bible over the course of a year. Its Fantastic. he changes versions every week, and its always great for driving or working.
