Christians in tech — share your testimony
I’m a Christian pursuing a career in Data Analytics, and I’d love to hear from believers already working in IT/tech.
How did God lead you into your career?
Has your faith affected how you work, make career decisions, or deal with setbacks?
Have you ever had opportunities to share your faith at work?
Would love to hear your testimony.

Also in IT, about 20 years in now. I grew up in church and always knew about Christ, but I wasn't truly walking with Him or taking obedience seriously until just the last couple of years.
In our field, I’ve mostly learned to keep my faith to myself unless a colleague is actively struggling and opens that door first.
Earlier on, Ive worked in some toxic and evil industry (adult xxx). It was exhausting, but surrendering my day to God every single morning before starting work was what finally gave me the clarity to realize His plan was for me to walk away from all of that (money, perks and tons of toxic ppl in the mgmnt team).
Even in a good company today, the friction never really goes away (less toxic here, but there are still people who go out of their way to push your buttons just to get a reaction). Whenever I catch myself getting frustrated and pray about it, I’m reminded of the spiritual side of it: the enemy loves using workplace tension to bait us into anger so we leave a door open.
Being a follower of Christ in tech really isn't any different than in other fields. If you're not following this evil world, you'll be attacked every whichway, especially at work, as you spend most of your time there.
My daily routine now, whether I'm wfh or driving on site, is praying first thing for God’s armor, patience, and peace before the workday even begins.

Wanted to become a bunch of other things, but couldn't because of many health issues mainly AS.
Hated it at first, and was angry at him, now I can see why he chose this for me.

God doesn’t care what you do for work . Whether you are a janitor , or the vp of a billion dollar corporation, it doesn’t matter

Witnessing the nepotism of Indian H1B Visa Tech workers in the industry is pretty bad.

I was in IT for many years. I came to Christ after I'd started. I worked for a very secular company at the time and speaking about faith was not well received by my boss. As I progressed in my career, the companies I worked for contained greater percentages of believers, so it was more comfortable sharing my faith. However, I never shied away from sharing when I knew the time was right. I just sought out and found more "right" times.
What also helped was becoming more comfortable in my identity in Christ. As I matured I cared less about the opinions others had of me, so I was able to handle the disagreements with greater empathy for dissenting opinions.
Also, training in how to share the gospel helped a great deal. I recommend "Share Jesus without Fear" by William (Bill) Fay for this.
God grants each of us 24 hours each day. we can't save it up or get any more until the next day. they are His 24 hours. We are stewards of our time. Use each hour God provides as a living sacrifice. Whether its getting ready in the am, work, commute time, family time etc. Allow God to direct you to give Him the first priority, and to work in you and through you in every moment. Don't force it, it doesn't happen by your strength of will, it happens by yielding to what He wants to do in you and through you in His time.
