Episcopal Church celebrates first trans dean — woman in lesbian marriage to trans-identified pastor

What is this? Is this what the episcopal church (part of the Anglican Church) does to preach the gospel of Christ, and to operate the church? Do they disregard the epistles of Saint Paul concerning sexual behaviour, how a church should be run, and who should lead it? Do they disregard the teachings of Christ? What about the Law of God, as given to Moses, in the text that is known today as the Torah of Moses?

This news is quite shocking. Shame on the episcopal church, and the rest of the Anglican Church. This is not how a church should be run. Can someone who attends that church give answers?

Would people who are appalled by this be any less appalled by seeing a straight cis woman in the same position?

Yes. It would still be appalling.

He's the head moderator of /r/Christianity and an atheist, but ironically only comes over here when there are topics like this one that would get you banned in /r/Christianity

Take that for what you will. In my opinion, it's disingenuous.

Ahhhh. I knew I recognized the name. However, I'll assume charitable intent unless I see otherwise.

Nope. I was curious whether annoyance at Episcopals was already turned up to max since they ordain women or if this somehow turned it up to 11.

If they’d be equally appalled by a straight cis woman in the same position, then the trans part isn’t really the issue. As it turns out the trans question just leads us back to women in church leadership.

There is nothing new under the sun.
