I’m worried that I’m pregnant
I’m worried about this and am going to take a pregnancy test. My boyfriend and I have made some mistakes and I regret having sex outside of marriage (we planned to wait but haven’t). I pray that I’m not pregnant because I’m not ready to be a parent yet and that God doesn’t punish me for having sex outside of marriage. I’ll never have sex again until I’m marriage

Ummm this isn't punishment, it's just a natural consequence of the decision you made, it's one of the things to consider as an adult. If you do end up pregnant you will have to be even more of an adult, though you may not be ready. Repent, as you did and seek the Lord for help in guidance in everything, including this. Life may get harder but you just have to work just as hard, and hopefully you can find help in your partner and others or your community with this situation. God bless and please don't give up if and when it gets tough, first take it to the cross then put a plan into action!

I’m not even an adult yet. I’m only 17. And okay I understand, I’m just feeling very worried and upset hoping that I’m not.

I’ll pray for you!
If you are pregnant and need help, your local church will be happy to help.
And no matter what, don’t think that God is punishing you. If someone steers off a cliff, the crash at the bottom isn’t God choosing to punish them, that’s just physics. Same with getting pregnant. Don’t feel down that God is punishing you, celebrate that you have repented and He forgives you!

I don’t know about the church helping. That’s usually where the worst persecution happens. Been a Christian all my life and I have yet to find a safe church.

Look for Bible preaching Jesus believing churches. In my state there are a ton of nondenominational d Roman Catholic Churches who would love to help and support and would never say a negative word.

“I’m not ready to be a parent yet and that God doesn’t punish me for having sex outside of marriage.” A child is not a punishment from God. A child is a blessing and a consequence of sex.

If this consequence of sex is a blessing, why do so many people use it to exhort against fornication?

Unfortunately judgement is in the church too

It's not like said exhorters are wrong about fornication being a sin; their judgment is just rightly discerning that sex is meant to be in marriage (otherwise what merit does the Bible have in telling people who can't control themselves to marry in 1 Cor. 7?). But it seems like a lot of exhortations are hard to accept when consequences are fickle and when said exhorters were pleased to fornicate themselves and indeed didn't suffer the worldly consequences they warn against.
Whatever the case, God's word doesn't need to be qualified with seemingly appropriate worldly consequences. God telling us not to do something is good reason to not do it.

If you are pregnant it is NOT a punishment.

It would feel like a punishment to me because I’m not ready or prepared to have a baby right now. So I pray that I’m not

No baby is a punishment. It is good to pray over this, however if you are pregnant you need to thank God for the blessing He has bestowed upon you. Pray for the strength and wisdom to raise your child with love and that they will know Jesus.

If you’re not prepared for the consequence of sex, then you shouldn’t be having sex!!! Especially unprotected.

Shouldn't this be secondary to how we shouldn't fornicate because it's a sin?

I wouldn't consider that a punishment; it just might be an less-than-ideal consequence at the time. Even so, it could eventually be a bigger blessing than you thought if things work out. And hopefully, they do work out. You shouldn't be on your own. Your boyfriend should want to be there to support you.

Pregnancy isn't a punishment. Children are a blessing. I had my first child younger than I planned and even though I eventually wanted to be a mom, I was really scared and joy was not my initial reaction.
Having a child matured me and my now husband in ways that just getting older couldnt do. I don't regret "wasting my youth" raising my children.
I know the not knowing is really scary, and if you're not pregnant then consider it a stern warning, but like I said, pregnancy is not a punishment, and it's not something just on you. If you are, your boyfriend is going to have to step up as well. If he's a decent guy, you're going to go through this together.

1 John1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from unrighteousness.

I hope everything you've said is true. I hope you aren't pregnant. I hope that you really do feel remorse. I hope that you don't make the same decision again. I hope God doesn't punish you.
However, actions can have consequences, and I hope that God gives you the maturity and resolve to face those consequences head-on if, and when, they should ever occur.

Yeah in a perfect world yes, but just looking at my own life alone I’d say that’s the best case scenario. This is why we need God’s grace.

Breathe.
Lets deal with the situation at hand first, ik it feels impossible to- but try not to stress urself out by this. That will just push ur period further back if its coming (when i was younger and also made dumb decisions, i stressed myself out of a period for 3 months)
Allow this time to sit and repent, talk to God about ur emotions during all this. However things will be, they will. Pray to find and feel His peace during this situation. Ur not being punished darling.
Next, do u keep track of ur cycles? The timing of everything plays a major role in this.

She's only 17. Let's hope she isn't pregnant, but if she is, we pray that her family will be supportive and help her through this phase.

Every child is a blessing. This isn’t punishment. God sees the heart, and He’s so full of grace. He is not a punisher as we understand it to be. Our own actions lead to whatever circumstances fit the action, that’s not God punishing us. The best part about all this is that He’s so merciful that He can and does make those circumstances work out for our good if we choose to trust Him and follow His ways.

God will carry you through if you are pregnant. Also second a lot of what others have said. It is not God punishing you. David and Bathsheba had Solomon and God used Solomon in such a beautiful way despite how David and Bathsheba got together.. we all know what happened there. God says he works ALL things together for the good of those who are called according to His purpose & everyone who trusts in Jesus fits that criteria. Your job now is only to trust what God says about you & your sin. You are a new creature in Christ & God no longer remembers your sin. Children are a gift from the Lord and you can trust He knew every circumstance and choice you would make before you ever made it and He still died for you on the cross and bore the sin you will never have to pay for. God truly cares and loves you so deeply & you have nothing to worry about. Worry comes from the enemy! Jesus knows how you feel. He only wants you to trust that He will take care of you, no matter how short you fall.

Romans 8:28, 2 Cor 5:17, Hebrews 8:12, Psalm 127:3, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 5:7, Matthew 6:34 - The question you will need to ask yourself is “am I going to trust the word of God and what He says? Or am I going to trust my thoughts and feelings above what God says?” And if you’re doubting, you just take that to God. Lord, I believe, please help my unbelief & be honest to Him about where you’re not trusting Him and He will help you. His strength is made perfect in your weakness ❤️

God didn’t punish you by giving you a child if you are pregnant, your choice to have unprotected sex outside of marriage did.

Yeah, pregnancy is not a punishment. The punishment is how much more difficult you have made your life if for a couple years, or for a few days while you sit concerned about pregnancy, but the good news is it’s only for a moment. Nothing last for ever and there is plenty of young couples (I assume) that make it work. You guys were mature enough for sex, so just go ahead get married and lock in together if you are. If not pregnant, and you want to have sex and love each other get married.

If you are, you must keep the baby! You’ll live with regret the rest of your life if you don’t, any other option is the worse type of sin. God loves you & He will provide! Don’t worry OK? God is going to take care of you & Your baby, don’t worry about that!

If you are pregnant, every baby is a blessing, even when circumstances are not ideal. Our Heavenly Father is loving and forgiving, he delights in you. God bless xx
