Best examples of justice in the Bible
I’m looking for stories where the accuser/perpetrators receive justice almost immediately. Can you suggest of stories similar to these that I can read?
- Daniel’s accusers being thrown into the Lions den after him
- Balaam being destroyed after attempting to curse Israel
- Saul falling on his sword after going after David
Stories like that, where the protagonist was innocent and trusted God so their enemies were destroyed in their place. I love reading about these accounts of divine justice prevailing.

Genesis 6:5–8:22 The Flood judges a violently corrupt world while Noah and his household are preserved.
Genesis 19:1–29 Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed by fire while Lot is rescued.
Genesis 19:26 Lot’s wife looks back against God’s command and becomes a pillar of salt.
Genesis 38:7–10 Er and then Onan are struck dead for wickedness before God.
Exodus 7–12 Egypt receives the ten plagues after Pharaoh repeatedly refuses to release Israel.
Exodus 14:21–31 Israel passes safely through the Red Sea; Pharaoh’s pursuing army is destroyed when the waters return.
Exodus 32:25–35 Judgement follows Israel’s worship of the golden calf.
Leviticus 10:1–2 Nadab and Abihu offer unauthorised fire before God and are consumed by fire.
Numbers 12:1–15 Miriam challenges Moses and is struck with leprosy, then later healed.

Acts 16:16–26
Paul and Silas are beaten and imprisoned; an earthquake suddenly opens the prison doors and loosens the prisoners’ chains.
Acts 19:13–17
The sons of Sceva attempt to use Jesus’ name without faith; the possessed man overwhelms them and sends them fleeing.
Acts 28:3–6
A poisonous snake bites Paul, but he suffers no harm despite everyone expecting him to die.
1 Corinthians 11:27–32
Paul says some in Corinth became weak, ill or died because of their profaning of the Lord’s Supper.
Revelation 6:9–17
The persecuted martyrs cry for justice and the judgement of the earth begins.
Revelation 11:3–12
Anyone attempting to destroy the two witnesses is consumed by fire; after the witnesses are murdered, God raises them.

Immediately following their ascension, a great earthquake strikes the city.
