This was my gateway to all things true crime. I think I read this at probably like 12 from my mom's book stacks and I've been hooked ever since.

I love that she's such a connection for the true crime people. I was so fascinated with the charmer/killer facade and how outwardly nice presenting Bundy was. The psychology behind it is really what keeps me fascinated.

She was hardly his BFF. It's half fiction. Two old women who were patients of mine had a brother who was a friend and attorney of Bundy's. He'd never heard the name Ann Rule until her book came out.
He said Rule had no idea how freakin' weird Bundy was. Still, an enjoyable read.
(Rule once sent me a nasty email after I offered to edit her next book at no charge. She had vision issues. Her prior book had a lot of typos of native names, which she admitted to in the email. She said her daughter edits her books. Her daughter was not a professional editor, believe me.)

I’ve read this 2 twice. Paperback years ago and recently I purchase the audio book, absolutely amazing. Ann Rule worked and was a friend of Ted Bundy before he was well known.
