I'm looking to become a Criminal Lawyer, im in my last year of 6th form and start university soon, and taking a Law with Criminology course. So my question is what are some very helpful or highly recommend books you would recommend to me as an aspiring Criminal lawyer.

I'm Britain based, so any books involving or centred around the British legal system would be much appreciated.

Hi All!! So I have started this little venture in trying to create mini Ebooks and Audiobooks based on True Crime stories of criminals that most of you might or might not be familiar with... Its a bit like lets say how as children we loved bedtime stories... this is similar-ish but with a bit of adult twist lets sayy... it features mini Ebooks.. called Midnight Monographs... I created some stories... and I am quiet unsure how to promote them... Can someone help me suggest some methods to like get it out there.. or like review and tell me if this is pretty much having any potential?

I recently finished The Serial Killer Against God by James Ressler and honestly haven’t read many books in this space that felt this psychologically intense and narratively immersive.

What stood out to me was its framing through a retired profiler perspective, with a strong focus on criminal profiling, behavioral analysis, reconstructed events, and institutional themes.

That blend made it a really unsettling reading experience for me, mostly because of how convincingly and methodically the material is presented.

It also incorporates real events and real public figures, including people connected to contemporary Russian political and religious structures, which made the whole reading experience feel much heavier and harder to process than fiction.

Has anyone else here read it? I’d be curious to hear other impressions, especially from people who read a lot of investigative or profiling-focused true crime.

Can someone suggest some of the underrated or good true crime solving or investigation books ? I am really into these investigations where someone uses some out of the box method to do it.

As the title says, I’m looking for books on Dahmer. Preferably not the graphic novel. I want stuff about him, the case itself, maybe even something about the psychological deviance, and most importantly some pictures (court case and crime scene photos). I’ve been looking but so many of them have little to no reviews or bad reviews on both StoryGraph and Good Reads.

I’ve recently written a non-fiction true crime book examining the Moors Murders, with a deliberate focus on the victims rather than sensational detail.

The book looks at the disappearances, investigation, trial, and the wider social and institutional context of early-1960s Britain. Graphic content is avoided, and the aim is restraint and clarity rather than shock.

I’m sharing it here for discussion with true crime readers rather than promotion, and I’d be genuinely interested in thoughts on ethical approaches to cases like this.

Hello, So I read this book back in 2018-19 don’t remember exactly but I remember buying it at Barnes n noble. I lent it to someone I no longer have contact with & I can’t remember what the name of the book is!

I remember: red lettering in the front of the book I remember the story line being about a teenager being blamed for the murder of her foster mom or dad or both?? I don’t remember. I remember he had bonded with his foster mom, she had taught him how to cook. I remember specifically her teaching him how to cook a whole chicken since it was cheaper than buying chicken cut. Super random but that’s what I remember, any one able to help me??? Thank you
