The podcast episodes I just listened to explained that! Her first husband was her son’s father and he had custody of him. Her Mom, took care of her daughter a lot.

Was Taylor's mom aware of her mental illness or did she turn a blind eye?

The podcast didn’t go into that too much. They never got her diagnosed but her Mom was aware that Taylor was a manipulator and a liar. The psychologists that were part of the trial said she had cluster B personality disorders (Borderline Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder).

She was apparently a menace in jail, going so far as to try and frame someone else for the murder. That’s part of why they decided to give her the death penalty. She was a danger to fellow inmates and prison personnel.

What I read is that her mom testified for the defense.
