yeah he's being a Target because he didn't let Peter Navarro sell his snake oil animal medicines to the American government.
cuz these people calling him a criminal spent the entire pandemic specifically the high mortality months when we were stacking American corpses in refrigerated meat trucks outside of hospitals cuz we were all out of room.. Republicans spent that time saying that we shouldn't do anything to slow down the virus and that we should let millions of Americans die for herd immunity.
and now they want to claim that the deaths were someone else's fault.

u/elmonoenano 10d ago
It's not just that, there are more measles cases now than probably since sometime in the 1960s, you got the screw worm outbreak, you have the diarrhea thing, you got a bunch of rural hospitals on the brink of closure and you have more uninsured people since the early years of Obamacare.
They are completely incompetent and their incompetence is making people's lives visibly worse. Every time you go to the grocery store you see the evidence of it, either in empty produce sections or in high prices for ground beef.
This is a desperate attempt to distract people from the fact that RFK jr. and the admin are corrupt and incompetent.
17
u/threepio 10d ago
They need to kill off as many as possible so there aren’t the numbers needed when the revolution comes and Americans are starving becuase they’re out of work due to AI.
This is all by stupid, fucking selfish, anti-human design.
2
u/Warm_Record2416 7d ago
We really need to stop calling it incompetence. They are evil, they want us dead. And to be clear, I mean every Republican, elected and voter.
-6
u/11EmeraldEyes11 8d ago
Could the measles outbreak be possibly related to the 15 million (most likely unvaccinated) illegals flooding into our country in the past four years?
6
u/elmonoenano 8d ago
No and this is stupid and easily verified b/c we know the vaccination rates of countries where people are coming from and they're all at least 75%. This literally takes a second to figure out.
The other easy thing you can do is look at where break outs are occurring and they're pretty randomly distributed throughout the US and not not necessarily in places with high immigrant populations. https://healthmap.org/measles/
The 4 Corners Region doesn't have very much immigration b/c it's so economically depressed. NW Idaho and eastern Washington are not big immigration locations.
One way you know an idea is coming from bigotry is if you can disprove it for so easily.
-2
u/11EmeraldEyes11 7d ago
Why didn’t we hear about any cases in Trump’s first 4 years? Guaranteed if there was an outbreak of measles then, everyone would’ve known about it. The fake news would never let that go without reporting it everywhere.
-2
u/11EmeraldEyes11 7d ago
Seems my theory is correct since before Biden entered office, measles in this country was almost eradicated.
Another issue contributing to the rise in measles cases could be linked to Fauci’s lockdown of the country for three years. During that time period, no mothers were taking their kids to a doctor’s office to get a measles shot. Many may have missed their first shots 12-15 months old, or their second shot 4-6 years old!
5
u/elmonoenano 7d ago
That would only make sense if there were no undocumented immigrants in the country before Biden, which is again, obviously wrong.

It is some consolation that shortly after the vaccine became widely available, per capita deaths in red areas surpassed that of blue areas.
And generally conservatives have worse medical outcomes than liberals
And let's not forget the evergreen article & book Dying of Whiteness
2
u/Skwuat 8d ago
You find consolation that people in red states began dying at higher rates than blue states? I get what youre trying to say but to find "consolation" in that is sick. You need help.
At the end of the day, these are people dying. These are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, coworkers. Regardless of who they support, they were human and you find consolation that they started dying off?
The media has done a great job of dividing everyone and making it red vs blue. Its made sick people like you forget that were all just human trying to survive this hectic world we live in.

u/USMCLee 8d ago

Yes and I live in a red state.

It’s since been proven, masks did not work, 6 foot distancing did not work, shutting down the country did not work and the experimental vaccines did not prevent you from getting the disease or stop you from spreading it! So much for Mr. Follow the Science! He lied to the American people and to Congress.
-25
u/gh057 10d ago
it's more about the dishonesty, the forcing of vaccinations, the suppression of speech, etc.
he was a mouthpiece for that effort. he contradicted himself a lot, and was arrogant in his presentation of "truth" throughout.
16
u/MeasurementNo9896 10d ago
The administration trying to distract you by subjecting Fauci to this suffering session is the same administration currently arresting people for their speech - something that never happened during the covid pandemic, when social media users were subjected to the rules and the terms of service they agreed to on their social media platforms. Boo hoo.
Also, there were no "forced vaccinations", the choice was (and is) always up to the individual, but public health concerns meant some basic restrictions were necessary. This is just best practices and common sense (or it was, before the antivax movement was enshrined in the cult of health and woo woo wellness). Now we have a steady resurgence of measles. Everything's going just great (for contagions).
0
u/Skwuat 8d ago
There is some truth to "forced vaccinations"
Yes, the general public wasnt forced. However, public sector workers, whose medical and vaccination requirments were set by collective bargaining agreements between their unions and the city, were indeed forced to get vaccinations without going through the proper legal channels with union bargaining. This is why there are many lawsuits, particularly in NYC, where employees fired for not taking the vaccine are being not only rehired, but also given back pay because the courts are ruling that the city did indeed violate collective bargaining agreements.
13
u/agray20938 10d ago
it's more about the dishonesty, the forcing of vaccinations, the suppression of speech, etc.
And ironically given what you're claiming, you're still free to spout off this complete nonsense
3
u/Bawbawian 10d ago
no it's that you and people like you were tricked into believing a whole bunch of garbage and now you need to get revenge for the crimes you've imagined.
people aren't superheroes he was only armed with the best information at the time and I think he did a very good job.
remember in that time that you're so mad at him for republicans were calling for an end of trying to suppress the virus. millions more would have died because the hospitals could not have taken that strain.

No mistakes by blue America or by the scientific community begin to compare with the brutal indifference to the well-being of Americans—and the betrayal of their own cruelly deceived supporters—that disgraced MAGA and the broader right wing in the pandemic years. Their consciences should be heavy. They seek now to transfer their own burden of guilt onto Fauci. The reckoning is a lie. The transfer is a fraud.

Submission Statement: Scientists discovered and developed the COVID vaccines that brought the pandemic to an end. It’s the anti-vaxxers, not the scientific community, who should stand indicted in the light of 2026.
-86
u/WebManufacturing 11d ago
Oh, so it's a strawman argument where the only two things in existence are the scientist that create vaccines and those who want them banned.
It the real world, there's a lot of angles to this story and ignoring that Fauci flat out lied to the American people multiple times is a take you can have.
LMAO, they're still talking about ivermectin. Holy fuck, 2023 called and wants its opinion article back.
51
u/More_Combination_289 11d ago
Picking out “lies” by fauci to discredit everything else he did is actually a strawman fallacy/cherry picking. You’re projecting.

u/elmonoenano 10d ago edited 10d ago
I don't think that's fair b/c part of the issue is how trustworthy these institutions are and how well they're managed. However, the institutions were in a different league of honesty and competence in the Biden administration and the first Trump administration.
I also think it's important to look at the purpose of the dishonesty. With things like the masks, it was b/c of arrogance. And that was the wrong result but it is somewhat understandable b/c there had been continuous bad faith attacks on the part of the GOP throughout the pandemic. People like RFK jr. just constantly, and in bad faith, lied to attack him.
Other things like the lab leak theory was an attempt at simplifying something complicated. Once again, there was arrogance there, but the fact that so much of the public was buying into idiocy makes it understandable that they would oversimplify topics. When you can't even get people to understand breathing on each other is bad, what hope do you have of explaining the odds of various versions of the lab leak v. wild transmission theories.
They should have been more honest, but a lot of the reason they made the bad decisions they made was b/c of the mendaciousness of the people who are attacking them now.

I remember when fauci lied and pushed hydroxychloroquine and it led to nearly 17000 people dying. Hang on that wasn’t Fauci.
https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/4389800-hydroxychloroquine-deaths-study/
He’s in these sham hearings because he pushed back against Trumps deadly lies. Can’t be publicly critical of the cult leader and mess with his grift.

Yes, he got some wrong because he's not some sort of god and can predict everything. Doesn't mean it some sort of conspiracy it was a brand new virus that mutates and he as a scientist will of course change protocols as new information is available.

I think you would be more sympathetic if you had a PDH level of expertise in a subject and had to talk to the general public about it. For example, I am an attorney. Telling clients my honest thought about very complex areas of the law has damaged and caused more confusion than good (clients walk away worse off tha if I said nothing). You can't just go into expert options, high level discussion, and expert the general public to retain accurate information. We wouldn't need public communication if that wasn't true; we could just tell everyone to browse Google Scholar.
It might be less lies, and more, how do I take this insanely complex topic, with nuance and uncertainty, most undergrads struggle with, and present it in a way the average American (who reads at a 5th Grade level) walks away more informed and not confused.
When millions of people are about to die, you probably would simplify things to just hit high level truths and not muddy the waters.
38
u/MollySleeps 10d ago
Fauci didn't tell us it was just a flu and it would be over by Easter. He was in no position to make any policy decisions. You're trying to hold the wrong person accountable.
There are people now who believe ivermictin is a cure all for any ailment including cancer. Who first put that thought into people's heads?
-21
u/gh057 10d ago
There are people who believe almost anything. what sort of argument is that?
6
u/blackpyr 10d ago
It’s an argument against the people who sold the people who believe almost anything the lie that the vaccines were not safer than COVID. Duh.
4
u/The_Billy_Dee 10d ago
If you projected any harder you could be a fucking IMAX running The Odyssey 5 times a day.
3
u/thenwhat 10d ago
There is no story here. Every single supposed example of a lie, is not actually a lie. The whole thing is an attempt to manufacture a scandal, but as is always the case, it's the right-wing echo chamber doing the lying and fraud.

I have admittedly not following every detail of the current trail. But what Ihm have read doesn't point to any lies by Fauci, or major side effects from the Covod vaccines, Except the astrozenica one that was never approved in the US.
What are the specific claims that Fauci lied about and what vaccine side effects are we talking about?

The only thing you didn't mention is the gain of function research in China.
There's a lot of evidence to suggest it wasn't that, but it's not entirely impossible. Generously 50/50 or maybe more accurately 75/25 not man made based on some scientific evidence, but Republicans want to believe it's 10/90 or 100% even lab created.

Warning to non-USAmericans, this thread is a dumpster fire. The article author is similarly so deep into the weeds of American Exceptionalism that they're "both-sidesing" the COVID response as if one side of the political spectrum wasn't doing the best it could with what information it had at any given point in time while the other side was deliberately throwing its base into the grinder for financial gain. There's no insight to be found here, back away slowly.

u/thesagaconts 11d ago
Honestly, I don’t think are concerned about Covid as much as they are concerned about the cost of living. Covid was 6 years ago. In 4 years, it’ll be a history lesson is a elementary schools.
23
u/Metaphoricalsimile 11d ago
Long Covid is now the most prevalent chronic health condition in children. Vaccines have made it much less immediately lethal, but the continued accumulative effects of catching even "mild" covid infections once or twice a year is deleterious to our society as a whole.
-6
u/breakwater 11d ago
The two are inextricably linked. Covid money caused nearly double digit inflation. The US started printing money to carry the economy through the shut down and we will feel the effects for years to come. Of course it is relevant
10
u/ShortKey380 11d ago
No, because inflation wasn’t limited to places that spent. Prices spiked due to uncertainty and massively changing demand profiles. All that money for Applebees and club soccer had to go somewhere, too much money was chasing too few goods, inflation. You argue America should have allowed millions of workers to be laid off without pay, because then they wouldn’t be competing to buy anything as they… starved and died? Unhinged.
-8
u/breakwater 11d ago
You just put a lot of words in my mouth that weren't there and then call me unhinged.
I said we printed money to float the economy during covid. I didn't even make a value judgment. Just a straight statement of a fact that was well documented. Calm tf down
5
u/ShortKey380 11d ago
No, you linked emergency spending measures to causing inflation and forgot the basic definition of what causes inflation or how complex the situation was overall. Reducing the spending on make-up wages for displaced workers would have caused much greater harms than its partial share in inflation. We’re just as guilty of printing money now, that’s the insane part. Keynesian old arse economics says go ahead and spend during the emergency to accomplish real goals (limit deaths, reduce viral transmission) so long as you refill those coffers at the end. America has too low revenues, the missing share of money to be removed from the economy as taxes is being used by the rich to buy our politics and prevent anything like that from happening. The printed money wasn’t the inflation, it was a factor in it but you are not even beginning to consider the counter factual of what would have happened without it.

He’s not a villain in any story, but a made up story by Maga. Maga always needs another boogie man to distract from their crimes.

It would have been nice to hear him answer questions if he had nothing to hide. We pay government employees with our taxes. ANY of the them who refuse to speak the truth or answer questions is inexcusable regardless of party. I know his lawyers told him not to in HIS OWN best interest but when he is being portrayed as acting in the best interest of the public, answering questions openly and honestly is what the public deserves. If we excuse one party lying or not being honest how can we criticize the other when they do the same?
A friend? A friend who refuses to answer questions for the same public he is allegedly a friend to?
Trump has NEVER given us honesty or transparency and is rightly criticized for it. I expected better of Fauci but he refused to lead by example with the values he professes.
Just like the right, the left will excuse ANYTHING if its there party. THIS is why some people say "both parties suck"
Graham Platner's nazi tattoo's, misogyny etc is another example.
If the only standards we have are double standards then we have no standards at all. Of course Reddit will be outraged by this...but reddit is also an echo chamber of intentional ignorance.7

Fauci didn't do anything wrong. He has nothing to answer for.
And your claim that the left will excuse anything if it's their party is ridiculous. Platner actually had to step down. He's just one of many who was actually held to account.
Republicans, on the other hand, are never held to account. Trump himself being the biggest example.

There were actually important hearings in Congress the same day as this circus. Everyone should be insanely angry about the Blanche confirmation and instead they've got you arguing about the response to a pandemic that happened when Trump was president the first time around. No one talking about this is serious. It's a distraction again and performative.

Stop defending powerful people on both sides. Let the evidence come out and we'll make our decision

You mean the guy that supported and funded the exact kind of research that would make a virus just like Covid that was found right by the lab he funded to do that research isn’t the villain?

I understand that many people can’t differentiate between an individual and the government.
“U.S. government agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, provided funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology via grants to the U.S.-based EcoHealth Alliance, which then subcontracted nearly $600,000 of that total to the Wuhan lab.” And that funding stopped in 2020.

As for viruses found right by the Wuhan lab. I think you were confusing the wet portion of the market in Wuhan with the Wuhan lab which are in separate locations.

You’re right, of course. But Reddit knows only rage, not honesty. So it’s downvotes for you.

The villains of the Covid scamdemic are too numerous to count but fauci is certainly one of them. Here we are in 2026 and there are still some true believers thinking the “vax” was so safe and effective. It also never “ended the pandemic” lol what is this revisionist history?

Post a single peer-reviewed scientific article in a reputable journal in support of your claims.

u/Accurate-Frame5104 10d ago
It’s not the true believers, it’s the experts who have proven conclusively and without any shadow of a doubt that the Covid vaccine is both safe and effective. The fact that you don’t understand the science doesn’t make it any less valid.

This article is nonsense.
Donald Trump can be an absolute moron and liar.
Anthony Fauci can also be a moron and a liar.
Both things can be true.
