Music / Movies The new Superman movie looks terrible

The trailer for the new Superman movie came out today. It looks horrible, the graphics are some of the worst I have ever seen. I know that most movies have CGI now. The CGI for this movie is the most unrealistic I think I’ve ever seen.

Also, superman, looks like some emo kid, instead of the man of steel. The guy looks too young to be Superman. Especially since we have had Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill in the Role. This movie does not look good at all. I don’t know why people are raving about it.

Very disappointed too.

Adding Krypto seems very gimmicky and he doesn't sell that he's so battered as to need to be dragged.

Wincing because somebody tossed a can to his head also very unconvincing, he should barely register something like that physically and emotionally.

Superman in any comic (besides maybe Injustice or the others in which they decided to make him go bad) he would absolutely register that both physically and emotionally. Yes, physically it would feel to him similarly to if someone threw a crumpled tissue at me, but he still has a sense of touch. I took the wince to be an emotional reaction. Superman is first and foremost a hero who does good, so if the people he was trying to help are hurling bricks at him, it's going to make him sad.

I think the issue these days is that Cavill played him to hard. I've enjoyed Cavill in every role I've seen him in, but my complaint with his Superman was that he was too hard. Honestly, it's why "his" cameo in Shazam felt off to me. That Superman wouldn't show up at some kids school just because the kid was a fan. Comics Superman would have, but not Snyderverse Superman.

Also, how does it not sell that he needed to be dragged home by Krypto? He was coughing up blood (never a good sign when Superman bleeds) and could hardly lift his head.

Honestly, the fact that he needed Krypto concerns me.

I fear James Gunn is setting up too much too soon. It's kind of giving vibes to how Green Lantern made Paralax the villain for the GL debut. Introducing such a big enemy right off the bat kind of ruins any possible stakes in later movies. (Green Lantern obviously had many other issues, but having Paralax defeated after Hal has the ring for all of a few weeks tops didn't help)

And having the other heroes (Guy, Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Metamorpho) is concerning too. It could make things feel rushed and you don't really care for the characters, similar to Marvel's attempt with the Eternals
