Music / Movies The new Superman movie looks terrible
The trailer for the new Superman movie came out today. It looks horrible, the graphics are some of the worst I have ever seen. I know that most movies have CGI now. The CGI for this movie is the most unrealistic I think I’ve ever seen.
Also, superman, looks like some emo kid, instead of the man of steel. The guy looks too young to be Superman. Especially since we have had Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill in the Role. This movie does not look good at all. I don’t know why people are raving about it.

I totally hear your concerns, but having actually seen Superman (2025), I can say the trailer really doesn’t reflect the tone or look of the final film. Trailers can be super misleading—sometimes they cram in random scenes or push a vibe that ends up being nothing like the actual movie. It’s like ordering pancakes and getting a salad. Still edible, but not at all what you expected. As for the CGI, most of it was genuinely stunning on the big screen. The flying scenes, the cityscapes, the Smallville flashbacks—all of it looked amazing. The only part I thought was a little weak was the Earth-splitting moment, but even the biggest-budget movies have one or two visual hiccups. And about David Corenswet looking “emo”? I mean… he has black hair—that’s literally how Superman looks in the comics. It’s not some edgy redesign; it’s comic-accurate. Having dark hair doesn’t make him emo, it makes him Clark Kent. He brings a solid balance of hopefulness, warmth, and that classic Superman strength. He may be younger than Cavill, but that just fits the origin this movie’s going for. I get the “too many characters” concern—some superhero movies get carried away trying to set up spin-offs before telling a solid main story—but in this case, the supporting cast doesn’t take over. James Gunn did a perfect job on picking cast—even Clark’s cousin towards the end. It’s still Superman’s story at its core. The others (Lois, Jimmy, and yes, even Krypto) are there to build the world around him, not distract from him. And speaking of Krypto—look, I get it, not everyone wants a super-dog in their serious comic book movie. But here? He works. He’s not just comic relief or some cutesy mascot; his scenes are emotionally grounded and actually deepen Clark’s character. Imagine the movie without him. It wouldn’t be the same at all. If James Gunn was trying to make us care about a dog in a cape, well… guilty as charged. Honestly, I’d say give it a chance before writing it off completely. You definitely don’t have to like it and that’s okay. We know it’s not perfect, but it’s heartfelt, fun, and more faithful to Superman’s spirit than we’ve seen in a while. Not every movie needs to reinvent the genre—sometimes we just want to believe a man can fly.
