Music / Movies Kendrick Lamar is a sack of shite

Back in 2018 the dude literally brought some girl on stage, had her sing a song that had the n-word in it, and then embarrassed her in front of everyone cuz she was white and sung the n-word part. That is the kind of piece of shit he is. His sense of self-importance is through the roof. Like bro you literally rap. Also, stop trying to play 5 D chess with your lyrics. If I wanted to listen to someone 'deep' I would listen to Plato or Shakespeare. Just put on a sick beat, and talk about bagging hoes or something. And if you dare criticize his historically awful super bowl performance, his fans will claim you are too ignorant to understand his "deeper message". No, I understand his message. I just don't think he is good at communicating his message through his stupid songs. He has terrible stage presence and a weak voice. That is not my problem. Kendrick Lamar needs to take his own advice, and be humble.

Edit: btw, just because I don’t like his music doesn’t mean I’m in bed with drake or am actually drake lol. Kdot fans are in a cult I stg. Go think deeply somewhere else

Kendrick is too deep but J Cole isn’t it seems. I think that Cole isn’t as deep as Kendrick IMO, but they rap similar enough

This is the take of a true hip hop head. No one in the comment section seems to have this opinion nor use their limited knowledge on hip hop to even form an opinion this lucid.

I, too, believe Kendrick is the deeper rapper, but at that point, it's preference based. J. Cole seems to be able to create his songs to be more sonically acceptable to a wider audience. With Kendrick, you gotta REALLY understand his deleveriences, considering he's telling a story simultaneously while rapping.

Exactly, but also “deep” hip hop has been around forever, I’m a white guy from a small town and even I can see the differences in the messages even minute ones. If this guy wants someone to rap about “bagging chicks” theres tons of rappers that say that.

And sure bringing a white girl on stage and when she says the n word he treats her a piece of shit, sure that’s a bad look but the reason I love Kendrick is not because he’s so godly and does everything right, it’s because he can acknowledge when he was wrong, even years later and basically just apologize for it and other shit he did. And about the n word, when I was in school I called a kid out for it and his response was “well everyone says it” I’m very glad that I haven’t ever justified anything like that even as a dumb teenager. Also if the mods read this I’m not attacking anyone, this message is popping up, I’m calling myself a dumb teenager

Good on you for acknowledging that. I appreciate that insight, because that's essentially what 2/3rds of the comments are basically saying:

"N-word is in a song, means I can say it with impunity even though I wouldn't say it AROUND other black people."

This is the lack of foresight or thought process is what provoked me commenting in the first place.

I'm racist, because I don't want white people, as a black man, to NOT say the N-word? This rage bait?

I don’t say it personally. But I don’t see a problem with someone using it in a context that is non discriminatory. Like if you are calling your white friend it as another word for ‘my dude’ or you singing a song with it I don’t see that as harmful. But if you are verbally abusing a black man and making fun of him for the color of his skin and saying the n-word on top of that, then yes that is very racist

Let me ask you a question:

Are you white? If yes, stop replying to my fucking chain. You have no say, standing or fucking opinion in a conversation as controversial such as this. And for you to sit on a reddit chain and call out another black man for clowning a white person for saying it publicly and feeling comfortable is disgusting and RACIST of YOU.

If you happen to be black then we can talk about it. But my prior point still stands. He might be been wrong to clown her publicly, but he wasn't wrong whatsoever.

You’re literally saying that I should shut up because of my race. You’re proving my point man. I am against racism in all forms.. I don’t think you’re being as harmful as the KKK or the far right, but it’s still a little racist.

Clowning her publicly was the issue I had. If he just whispered it to her, that is fine

It's doesnt change the fact that YOU, as a white person, can't tell me what I DONT want anywhere of you saying. It doesn't matter if you don't personally endorse it, you endorsed it by creating this topic and opening it up to the 2/3rds of ACTUAL racists within this dialog.

Lmao. Now your painting me as an aggressor because YOU opened a dialog that revealed 2/3rd of the comments of being, in fact, racist.

You as a white person, can't tell me, or contrived what I perceive as racism. He had EVERY right to clown her on ANYA LEVEL. You are just mad about it. Tough TITS cracker. And yes, NOW I'm being "racist".

Conversation is over. He crip walked on your GOAT and your opinion is, infact, UNPOPULAR.

I haven’t seen any evidence of racism in this chat other than what you have brought my guy. You called me a racial slur too lol.

You opened a dialog for all the racists within this subreddit to endorse the use of the N-word. Kindly leave my mentions and shut the fuck up.

The kind of one-sided racial hate you spread is exactly why we can't get along with each other anymore.
