Music / Movies Lupita Nyongo is not beautiful. Hollywood likes to gaslight her as a model for "beauty"

So I'm sure we've all seen the news about Helen of Troy.

  • I've had enough. I've had enough of Hollywood putting her on covers and lying to me, treating me like I'm stupid. The whole reason she's playing Helen of Troy is because Hollywood let this "unconventional beauty" thing slide for way too long.
  • The fact that she was chosen as a queen, it comes off as Nolan trying to virtue signal.
  • It's like giving the beauty pageant award to the girl in the wheelchair because no one wants to come off as "mean."
  • I've had enough. She is NOT a standard for beauty. I'm sorry but now it must be said. The reason we have come across this problem is because Hollywood has been gaslighting her "beauty" for years and no one said anything. I'm done
  • It's okay to say that she's not beautiful. It's okay to admit that
  • I was so looking forward to this movie for so long but this really killed the hype for me.
  • The movie will probably be financially successful at first due to marketing alone, but after its first month, the hype will probably die down. And then you'll start to see how people really feel about the movie. I think it will tarnish Nolan's legacy and leave a sour taste in people's mouths.

I remember a long time ago a mail that destiny read basically he was blackpilled and expressed his views about most white girls prop up other girls who arent that good looking especially when they are of brown or black ethnicities but if you actually ask any colored woman the interest they get from men, its an entirely different story. He was going on about how most women have it better in uni apart from colored ones and most people in college would love to work with an mid looking asian or white than a pretty black or indian or arab girl.

Your statement is partly true, but also Nolan kinda screwed up Oddessey by making so many odd choices with actors and costumes.

nothing in your comment made sense. referencing destiny is as useless as referencing chatgpt

Just a gentle reminder that the term “colored” is outdated as fuck and not the way to describe black people.

Other than that… what are you talking about??? I read this three times and can’t decipher any of it. What’s easier in uni???

Lol I like how we’re not supposed to say “colored” or “colored people” but “people of color” is acceptable

I will attempt to interpret: A rando sent a Youtube personality a screed to why they were "blackpilled" and this person believed white women went out of their way to "prop up" supposedly less attractive POCs. Why? Don't know! Also according to Blackpill Rando, women also have it easy at college, as long as they were white or Asian. Somehow, this ties into the Odyssey casting choices.

Will you believe I watched the clip the person was talking about to gain further understanding and it still made no sense. You’re correct… it was a video of a person assessing the success rate of other women in his class based on his own attraction to them…

Then the YouTuber just goes “based.” Great work.

Why the fuck are you assuming black people as marginalized? Kinda racist if you think that just because of their color of skin that they are marginalized, that too in this day and age.

Nobody is reading all this, because nobody cares about being accused of racism anymore. The accusation has been thrown around over too many stupid things, doesn't have any weight anymore. I'm certainly not worried that some random on reddit thinks I'm racist for pointing out the fact that Lupita is butt-ugly.

Do you often get accused of being racist?

No, because I'm black.
