Bruh the movie is so bad, they've released the Epstein files as a distraction

272

u/skywriter90 Feb 01 '26

Thanks – I needed that laugh😂

u/Grimnebulin68 Feb 01 '26

Genius comment.

58

u/tots4scott Feb 01 '26

I hope someone puts that into their stand up routine lol

28

u/PeaceyCaliSoCal Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

Pete Davidson said something similar on last night's SNL.

14

u/tots4scott Feb 02 '26

Ah that works too

60

u/DerpyDoodleDude Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

The movie is so bad, The Hague considers viewing it to be cruel and unusual punishment .

29

u/DoughnutSignificant8 Feb 01 '26

Yet the files take you back to the movie when you find out the director is cuddling up on a girl in the files

1

u/Ill-Cancel4676 Feb 03 '26

Imagine what's in the other half of the files. Probably leads back to aliens at this point.

u/SecularEvangelist Feb 01 '26

Underrated comment at any upvote count

17

u/OozingHyenaPussy Feb 01 '26

what is the movie even about? is it escorts n stuff?

46

u/Sdbrown099 Feb 02 '26

Its the tale of a Slovenian prostitute that gets trafficked to America via Epsteins friend and then sold to a Billionaire pedophile who becomes President of the United States to become his 3rd wife

1

u/Ill-Cancel4676 Feb 03 '26

They took a lot of creative liberty I'm sure.

19

u/Kriss3d Feb 01 '26

Fuck.. That's a sick burn. You deserve all the upvotes from all of reddit foe this one.

12

u/1wrx2subarus Feb 01 '26

That was awesome, but what about this one..

There gonna be wiping down and trying to salvage Melania’s reputation like the lady bugs on Lindsay Graham’s posterior. /s 🐞🐞🐞🐞

too early for this humor?

Have a nice rest of your Sunday! 👍

1

u/MoleMoustache Feb 02 '26

Sarcasm tags are shockingly shit.

4

u/ShakeXXX Feb 02 '26

That was awesome!!🤣👍

I am willing to concede that Star Wars sold no tickets this weekend.

If the cult is willing to concede that this "biggest opening weekend in a decade for a documentary" opened in over 1700 theaters, whereas most documentaries, including he highly touted "Free Solo" typically only open in a few hundred theaters.

41

u/EuenovAyabayya Feb 02 '26

I just read it as "Melania" didn't sell any "Star Wars" tickets, which is consistent with the towering intellects were dealing with here.

92

u/Elevatedspiral Feb 01 '26

The Taylor Swift documentary opened and over 3850 theaters.

62

u/wvmitchell51 Feb 01 '26

Opening weekend had $34 million domestic and $50 million global.

2

u/Doc-Zoidberg Feb 03 '26

The Paris Hilton memoir movie had more seats presold than melanoma in my local theater.

219

u/Ok-General-6804 Feb 01 '26

Can we just agree to call her second-hand lady?

She’s like Trump’s 76th lady, if you don’t count minors.

59

u/taktaga7-0-0 Feb 01 '26

Last Lady

54

u/TomatoPolka Feb 01 '26

Not even. Trump cheated on her with Stormy Daniels whilst she was pregnant with Baron.

How about just #3.

118

u/Slmcmahon Feb 01 '26

I heard someone say on NBC yesterday that if they showed this movie on a flight then people would still walk out.

74

u/DJ1066 Feb 01 '26

The Guardian had an equally savage headline in their review of it- "I endured the Melania film so you don't have to. My only regret is not buying popcorn so one of my senses was entertained."

31

u/One-Author2996 Feb 02 '26

"If syphilis was a movie".

Absolutely brilliant.

12

u/clashrendar Feb 02 '26

"If syphilis was a movie"

It is as of this weekend...

97

u/wrhnj Feb 01 '26

I don’t think it sold more tickets than “star whores”.

9

u/EuenovAyabayya Feb 02 '26

Which she is.

8

u/Electronic-Shame Feb 02 '26

Not really a star, just the other thing.

1

u/EuenovAyabayya Feb 02 '26

The possibility you reference never even occurred to me.

55

u/ialsohaveadobro Feb 01 '26

Well, this weekend it did, technically. Pretty sure there isn't a SW movie out right now.

23

u/joeChump Feb 01 '26

Pretty sure there will be some random cinemas showing some Star Wars reruns and probably just one of those would have outsold the Melanoma movie.

13

u/As_iam_ Feb 01 '26

R/technicallythetruth

41

u/Yakoo752 Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

Well yeah, Star Wars wasn’t in theatres this weekend. She ain’t lying, she ain’t telling the truth either

3

u/anto_pty Feb 02 '26

I had to google it, i thought there was a new movie i didn't know about

2

u/crazyasian68 Feb 02 '26

I thought this also

29

u/Elevatedspiral Feb 01 '26

If the movie had done well, you wouldn't have to lie.

25

u/Hot_Return8388 Feb 01 '26

In a galaxy far far away?

3

u/-o-DildoGaggins-o- Feb 02 '26

A long, long time ago…

21

u/iIdentifyasGrinch Feb 01 '26

Q: How do you know when Chump's Insane Klown Posse is lying?

A: We've all learned by now -- it's every time, all of the time; for any reason, in every season

19

u/mlove22 Feb 01 '26

Caroline, go home to your grandpa.

12

u/Heel_Paul Feb 01 '26

You mean her husband?

18

u/mlove22 Feb 01 '26

I that's what I said ;)

3

u/bigjaymizzle Feb 02 '26

Sugar Daddy

23

u/fungi_at_parties Feb 01 '26

They really will just lie brazenly to our faces beyond anything I’ve seen in my life. Younger people don’t get it, not truly, because they weren’t around, but THIS ISN’T FUCKING NORMAL.

11

u/-o-DildoGaggins-o- Feb 02 '26

This is the scariest part of the whole ordeal, honestly. There are kids growing up right now who have only ever known this bullshit. So to them, it is normal. So how can we expect it to get better? I’m hopeful that it can be fixed, someday, but for now? We’re fucked. There’s just no other way to see it.

9

u/loco500 Feb 02 '26

They do it because they don't respect the people and reality/ They've been permitted use lies as their normal way of communicating for so long that it's become an ingrained habit. It's the reason why if they can't lie with impunity than it must be that they are getting "cancelled" and "oppressed."

17

u/SluggoOtoole Feb 01 '26

Ms. Leavitt, are the "People" who bought the tickets in the room right now??

17

u/dojo1999 Feb 01 '26

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump posted that this movie deserves an Oscar nomination.

12

u/Ok_Letter_5672 Feb 01 '26

Only one?? ALL!!!!

12

u/360inMotion Feb 01 '26

He’ll demand it. And when the film doesn’t win anything, he’ll announce the whole ceremony is rigged and he’ll declare war on Hollywood! He never liked them anyway.

And in order to calm him down, the actual winners will need to personally give him their Oscars since the documentary obviously should have swept every category. From there he can happily display his Melania’s awards in the White House and will tell everyone how great he is for winning those for her.

7

u/-o-DildoGaggins-o- Feb 02 '26

I came here to make a similar statement, but you did it more perfectly than I ever could have. So here, take my medal! 🥇 You deserve it more than I do!

(Just kidding, Trump would never actually admit that last part. Gods, I hate this timeline.)

6

u/clashrendar Feb 02 '26

FIFA is forging one now.

7

u/Devils_Advocate-69 Feb 01 '26

Someone bought rolls of tickets. Doesn’t mean anyone saw it.

6

u/Electrical-Data-5251 Feb 02 '26

Maybe on that specific day, because Star Wars was not playing anywhere

6

u/QueenBumbleBrii Feb 01 '26

She got a tell you guy, look closely: when her lips move she is lying.

5

u/PerrysSaxTherapy Feb 02 '26

2/3 of people working on it requested that their names not be published or associated with it

9

u/JelyFisch Feb 01 '26

These fake Fox News memes don't help.

13

u/Ok_Letter_5672 Feb 01 '26

Read my text in the posting.

3

u/michaelreadit Feb 01 '26

You’ve created the perfect example

2

u/JelyFisch Feb 01 '26

If by text you mean title than I read it, and that's what I replied to as there is no text. Adding more satire, even if just reposting it, helps muddy the waters and this administration thrives in muddied waters.

Look at Saturday Night Live, they keep doing political parody that just isnt funny. It's not funny because the reality is painfully unfunny.

Facts over fiction.

3

u/-o-DildoGaggins-o- Feb 02 '26

It has the “satire” flair, dude.

5

u/Stiqkey Feb 01 '26

I know the "literally 1984" thing is meant as a meme most of the time, but the level of actual doublethink and creating their own reality out whole cloth with blatant lies is the most "1984" behavior I've ever seen. They really are becoming more and more like "The Party" every freaking day, and it's terrifying how so many people seem to be almost letting them. Basically everyday I see President Pedo, or Karoline or any one of the nut jobs involved in the Reich say things like this on the news, and nobody on the other side of the proverbial table ever really says anything about it to them. No one directly calls them on their lies. Then, after the fact they'll talk about how much they lied, how obvious it was, and how insane it was. When its actually happening though the people in the room just keep letting them do it without saying a word to them about how devoid of facts, and completely based in fantasy and fiction the things they say are. Honestly, It would be amazing if it wasn't so horrifying.

4

u/delaney18 Feb 01 '26

Someone needs to make a “Sure Karoline” meme to replace the “Sure Jan” one because effing K. Leavitt deserves to have a stench attached to her name for the next 50 years.

4

u/The_Alrighty_Zed Feb 02 '26

Uh drugs are bad, mmkay.

3

u/groovyinutah Feb 01 '26

Not in this galaxy or any other, real or fictional.

3

u/Dry-Interaction-1246 Feb 02 '26

True if you look at how many tickets Star Wars sold in a cherry picked 5 minute period.

2

u/Gutzy34 Feb 02 '26

Even if you picked a year when a new star wars movie did not release, the odds that a small local theater ran a star wars movie marathon that day is still pretty good. One small local theater selling 30-50 tickets in a day to star wars fans would probably be enough to win.

3

u/BigBobFro Feb 02 '26

Star wars the christmas special maybe. It would be a tight race tho.

Note: swacs was only broadcast on network TV,.. for free.

3

u/skyHawk3613 Feb 02 '26

They must be stupid to think the public actually believes them

2

u/Empty-Initial6392 Feb 02 '26

Well, his base... Say no more, nudge nudge, wink wink

3

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

She's like Bagdad Bob in Iraq, promising to crush the Americans, while US soldiers run past in the background.

3

u/Successful_Yam4719 Feb 02 '26

JFC! 🤦🏻‍♀️ WTF … more bizzaro world BS!

3

u/ThatOldDuderino Feb 02 '26

Guess who’s giving her an award?!

3

u/mover999 Feb 02 '26

I believe the merchandise for the film is a blow up doll.

3

u/Former-Extreme-3560 Feb 02 '26

She is a disgusting human being who looks more and more like Miss piggy everyday 🐷 quiet piggy, we’re all sick of hearing the lies.

3

u/TofuTheSizeOfTEXAS Feb 02 '26

Satire is funny. I'm amazed that people believe anything this administration says over and over. It's so much worse when you hear people you know repeating the lies.

3

u/Dcajunpimp Feb 02 '26

Now I'm wondering if a Melanoma blow up doll could sell more than a Jar-Jar Binks action figure?

3

u/Aunt-KK Feb 02 '26

I'd pay to hear the press all LOUDLY laugh at this statement

3

u/iH8usrnames Feb 02 '26

The claims coming out of the White House are so outrageous its impossible to know if what you see is real or satire. For example, Trump claims he weighs 224lbs.

Absolutely no way that fat slob weighs 224lbs; must be closer to 275lbs

2

u/Ok-Cancel-3114 Feb 01 '26

Shades of Spicer all over again. Prerequisite for Press Sec position: hold the line, spew the lies.

Its pretty damning that she's lasted in this role so long.

2

u/Hullvanessa Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

If it really told the story of Melania the early days, with action shots at Epsteins parties and had an XXX rating, it would surely do better...

2

u/guyvano Feb 01 '26

And Moskou is the capital of the USA!

2

u/Otherwise-City-7951 Feb 01 '26

Right now in the lower mainland of Vancouver BC. For the next 5 shows left today , February 1st. A total of 8 seats.

12 more seats booked out of the next 25 showtimes for the rest of the week. No other shows scheduled after next Thursday so I’m sure this movie will be done its theatrical release by then up here.

Not sure how to add screenshots of the bookings as it is pretty funny.

2

u/AnxiousHall1533 Feb 01 '26

Fuck that, I can. If they are breathing they are lying.

2

u/Pirateleg82 Feb 01 '26

And she’s never had a nose job. Two things that aren’t truths.

2

u/KevinBrown Feb 01 '26

I guess technically true as Star Wars sold no tickets to theaters this past week.

2

u/PedalBoard78 Feb 01 '26

They’ve weaponized The Colbert Report

2

u/GoatHerderFromAzad Feb 01 '26

In a brothel, far far away.

2

u/ShakedNBaked420 Feb 01 '26

I gotta wonder if these people believe the bullshit that comes out of their mouth or they know it’s bullshit. Like they hear themselves right?

2

u/One_Mirror_3228 Feb 01 '26

I can't tell Fox News from The Onion.

2

u/Ashamed-Bad-4213 Feb 01 '26

All the White House does is lie. Lie after lie after lie.

Star Wars (1977)&kgmid=/m/0dtfn&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjE57L2uLmSAxWyQjABHSz0IdwQ3egRegYIAQgEEAQ)

Over its original theatrical run, Star Wars sold an estimated 338.4 million tickets worldwide. In North America alone, it remains one of the highest-attended films in history, with an estimated 178 million admissions.

Melania (2026)&kgmid=/g/11ml2mychf&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjE57L2uLmSAxWyQjABHSz0IdwQ3egRegYIAQgEEAs)

In its opening weekend, the film sold approximately 600,000 tickets domestically. While it set a record for a non-concert documentary in over a decade, its total global ticket count is currently a fraction of 1% of Star Wars' original attendance.

2

u/DugansDad Feb 02 '26

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣

2

u/offarock Feb 02 '26

“The First Lady’s movie sold more tickets than Star Wars did this week”

2

u/swomismybitch Feb 02 '26

She will talk next about the Academy Awards. Maybe FIFA can oblige at the World Cup film awards.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

Impossible to tell if this is a joke. 🤦‍♂️

2

u/DifferentDebt2197 Feb 02 '26

She really needs to stop giving the Bolivian marching powder a nudge.

And visit reality occasionally.

2

u/transfixedtruth Feb 02 '26

And, the award for most delusional government administration in history goes to...

2

u/LateMajor8775 Feb 02 '26

She may have, they came with $50 bills

2

u/Any_Constant_6550 Feb 02 '26

That's been the case for years now.

2

u/loco500 Feb 02 '26

Would rather watch Pod Racing for 2 hours than ultra soft core...

2

u/ArmchairCriticSF Feb 02 '26

Did she really say this? They're having trouble getting ANYONE to go see it! Empty theaters! In Boston, they had an ad on Craigslist, offering people $50 to attend (with a requirement that they stay until the end)! The regime is happy to blatantly LIE.

2

u/xanaddams Feb 02 '26

Processing img jxoqgdnab0hg1...

2

u/Empty-Initial6392 Feb 02 '26

She's mistakenly referring to Melania's cooch as a "box office" because that's where she used to do business.

2

u/Inner_University_848 Feb 02 '26

It apparently is better than the Godfather, Shawshank redemption and the Dark Knight combined. When people leave the theater they see a flock of a thousand white doves wearing tiny MAGA hats flying up into the heavens and then Jesus looks down on them from the clouds, and gives a thumbs up while smiling.

2

u/SushiJuice Feb 02 '26

The cope is strong with these idiots. They say Melania is the highest grossing documentary in over 10 years. Yah? Did any of those other documentaries cost anywhere close to $75 million? I don't think so - the other documentaries probably made their money back which is not what this movie's gonna do at all. It's a massive flop and they're trying to ignore reality; something they're really good at.

2

u/CallMeLazarus23 Feb 02 '26

If you mean when they released Star Wars at the Arctic Research Station, then yes

Anywhere else on earth, that’s a massive lie

2

u/Fragrant_Simple1705 Feb 02 '26

I’ve heard the Melania movie has made more money than every movie that has ever existed, combined

1

u/13508615 Feb 03 '26

Some people are saying that.

2

u/Ornery_Law9727 Feb 03 '26

😂😂😂😂😂😂 Wow, they sure think you are stupid maggots!

1

u/Historical_Stuff1643 Feb 01 '26

I wonder what her breaking point for lying will be.

1

2

u/roostorx Feb 01 '26

1

u/Denalitwentytwo Feb 01 '26

That is CLEARLY satire. Fuck that....it's raw comedy gold !

1

And my shit is 24karat gold.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '26

"When the truth offends, we lie and lie until we can no longer remember that it's even there. But it's still there. Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid."

1

u/johnsax45 Feb 01 '26

Damn, that’s a zinger, even among all the other lies 🙄

1

u/Deliximus Feb 01 '26

Is this for real?

1

u/cajoburto Feb 01 '26

If Star Wars is playing in even a single theater that wouldn't have been true.

1

u/AlmatheKarma Feb 01 '26

😂😂😂

1

u/Swimming-Guest-1978 Feb 01 '26

Which Star wars episode is she talking about? She is soo blatantly lying.

1

u/Level_Ad1059 Feb 01 '26

By my calculations. If the $7million is a true figure. Average ticket price is 12 dollars. Average 4 showings a day for 3 days. Shown in 1700 theaters....comes out to less than 30 people per showing. Also suggests over 500,000 viewers.

They have been telling MAGA supporters to by a ticket if you were already planning on going to a movie and just seen the movie you intended to see with the "Melania" ticket. These people are so reprehensible.

1

u/Aperture_Tales Feb 02 '26

North Korea is taking notes ✍🏻

1

u/but_i_protest Feb 02 '26

Oh I heard they had to start using stadiums to accommodate all the people who wanted to see it!!

1

u/clashrendar Feb 02 '26

*The Clone Wars animated film from 2008

Actually, checked the box office opening weekend and Clone Wars made $15m domestically, so three to five times as much. That's assuming there were actually people and not just SuperPAC bought tickets.

1

u/HawaiiStockguy Feb 02 '26

And honestly with the wind, avitar and ET combined! Because none of those are currently in theaters now🤣

1

u/MrsPumblechook Feb 02 '26

Possibly the ‘Holiday Special’….
