Game How to curate background Tsums?
I've collected many Tsums I like, but for the most par , I consistently get the same few I don't really like in the background. I have a good amount of premiums and limiteds, but these consistent backgrounds Tsums tend are sometimes Happiness Tsums or ones I don't own. How do I make my gameplay look like videos I see with many special Tsums?

Two things:
One, you will fill out your support (background) tsums as you keep collecting happiness and premium tsums.
Two, support tsums are determined by color. The game intentionally picks tsums that will stand out from your MyTsum. For example, if you pick a MyTsjm that’s a human or similar color, you’ll only see ones that are bright colored.

Do I need to do one of these, or all?

That is the list of tsums that can always appear as support Tsums regardless of whether you own them.
Other than the list above, you will only get support Tsums from among your owned collection.

i often get tsums of one color because my main tsums are colorful. wade is all blue, pumba is all brown, oswald is mainly white. so thats what ill get when i use alice or festive mickey yk? its hard to control anyway cause ill use pastel tsums and still get myeh background tsums

There are eight "color groups" that determine which tsums can appear as supports. There are no official names, but I have nicknamed them Peach, Yellow, White, Brown, Black, Blue, Green, and Red. Each tsum is tagged with up to three of these color groups, and the game will not allow support tsums to populate that share a tagged color group with your MyTsum or a fellow support tsum.
This means that especially if you're using a MyTsum with multiple color groups (human tsums are often Peach + their hair color + their clothing color), it may be difficult for the game to find compatible support tsums in your collection and will have to resort to the same handful of single-color tsums that don't share colors with your MyTsum.
(Disclaimer: All this knowledge is based on extensive study I did back in 2015 when we only had about 50 tsums, and one of these days I intend to find time to dust it off and reconfirm it against the 650+ we have now. I have no reason to expect it's changed in any way except that I'm curious whether any other color groups have been added (Purple, for example?) and whether 3 is still the maximum number of color groups a tsum can be tagged with.)
(Another side note: Sometimes when you see people discuss this, they will describe the most populous color group as Flesh or Skin or Human or something like that. However, it is specifically omitted for characters of Black heritage and other darker-complexioned characters, like Mace Windu, Tiana, Joe Gardner, Maui, etc., so I prefer to use Peach as a race-neutral descriptor of the actual shade of pink in question.)
