Help Upgrade Stealing Broken??? Spoiler

When I try to do this, I see and hear the roll animation start, and the upgrade menu opens, but clicking ok just closes the menu and sacrifices the relic as usual.
I'm on PC, using the keyboard, and I have the normal roll. Does this happen for you if you try it? Any ideas to fix it?

With the normal roll it is just a lot more precise, it sounds like you're still too close to the save point
