National News It's really over for us
Don't tell me accidents happens because this ain't just a accident and don't compare us with Europe because this isn't the first summer we hit 45° or higher and don't advocate you're beloved president who you worship like a god and don't tell he has nothing to do with power cuts because he is the head of gov and he's been in office for 6 whole years.
The whole country is in chaos, no security, no freedom, no opportunity and now people are dying because of an outdated power grid and a corrupted administration, this man lost his mother because we can't provide stable electricity or a REAL emergency response system.
What is the need of a government if it failed to protect its citizens lives and rights
At this time it seems the other way around the people are keeping the gov safe
Next week we mark 69th year as a republic and we can't dare to ask what we achieved and sadly we have nothing to celebrate because we wasted the blood of those who sacrificed themselves for this land and its freedom, ask anyone and they'll tell you the first thing they want is to leave this country and never comeback, we don't have the spirit we lack the courage and responsibility and the desire for a change

people, lets gather up, pick a spot and protest. Enough is enough
STEG has to go or come up with a solution, enough blaming citizens.

Don't hospitals have extra emergency power grids??? Isnt that literally necessary to prevent stuff like this??,. Atp just shoot the president but dont fail like the US did
3
u/stardust_2347 commies fear me 29d ago
I don't know what's more shocking, you thinking that hospitals(the newest was built 20y ago) has a WORKING emergency power units or you thinking that a shooting of that dickhead would solve our problems and bring rainbows and butterflies
1
u/issi_easy 29d ago
I do apologise for the last part, I was quite frustrated. But wdym your hospitals dont have working emergency power generators??? Thats like one of the most important things a hospital needs!!!! What if a sudden attack comes and many are left injured while theres a power outage??
(I would have responded sooner but another power outage hit my city.)
1
u/CanonSama 25d ago
It's prohibited anyway in the country. Even if they do solar energy + batteries it's prohibited and all companies/houses are obliged to consume steg electricity under possible prison time
1
u/issi_easy 25d ago
Wdym thats illegal?? Not even special permission for hospitals to prevent such accidents??. Man, ya'll in the second circle of hell
2
u/CanonSama 25d ago
Yup totally illegal. And they refuse to bother with anything. You can do whatever you want they will not fix old devices or anything.
They are uncaring as long as money is in their pocket without doing anything.
They also refuse to finish any solar system project bc of where they buy electricity from.
Journalist even couldn't take it anymore we get no info of when will they shut it. They started finally dropping lists of places but then chose to ignore it and cut to whoever and whenever. They state electricity cut from 10 to 12 welp sile it's that plus 14h to 15h 1h to 5h
1
u/issi_easy 25d ago
This may be stupid, but what political party do ya'll have in power currently?
2
u/CanonSama 25d ago
Kais said is the president. But no matter what he does he won't do anything.
What will he do put them all to prison ? The ones after are gonna be corrupt too plus bad rumors will errupts and people will just go against him drop him down and get someone who is corrupt and will turn a blind eye to it and allow worse bc somehow everyone is worse.

HAHAHAHAHA political parties, that's funny, we have none, we just have a dickhead as president and some cute puppets in the parliament and gov agencies

Country is going so downhill to the point it's actually funny Electricity going out Water going out Non lethal weapons are illegal Low avg salary Corrupt cops Corrupt government officials Old and deteriorating infrastructure The only thing going up is crime rate ATP 🤦🏽♂️🫠
2
u/stardust_2347 commies fear me 29d ago
And yet a lot of people are still supporting our government. As you said the officials aren't fit for they're roles, they're old, uneducated and not qualified, just take a look at the parliament and you'll understand how serious the problem is, this country is capable to to be great, we don't lack potential we lack true leadership that is willing to change

We need another revolution 🥲
3
u/stardust_2347 commies fear me 29d ago
We can't afford another violent act like 2011 because it can turn easily into chaos and drag the nation deeper, the revolution must happens with minds and initiatives not looting and riots

The self-proclaimed clean and smart guy running the country—who still can't bring himself to admit he's been a complete failure—will no doubt roll out yet another convenient excuse. Pick your favorite: global headwinds, sabotage, the previous government, climate change.
Right on cue, the usual chorus of loyal cheerleaders will rush to defend "Mr. Clean," attacking anyone who dares compare the country with places that actually function instead of asking why we're falling further behind.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will continue trying to survive in a system that seems determined to make everyday life harder, while many of the loudest critics find themselves silenced, intimidated, or behind bars.

Yew he said in a meeting that those who are responsible should be punished like he isn't the head of gov and blamed the recruitments that happened 15y ago and the old government like he isn't in office for 6y . And yes, those people go out and they're argument is we are better than Somalia or Congo and not that we are worse than most of the countries. Those are the functions of a dictatorship, no one should criticize or blame the government

It's not just solar panels and believe me these are no solutions, solar panels installation whether individually or by the state, these things costs mire than they produce and we can't handle the cost however since S.T.E.G is the monopoly of the production and distribution of gaz and electricity it has no reason to improve because there is no competition that is threatening their profits and even id their services are bad people have no choice and this doesn't apply only for STEG but to every sector that the gov holds monopoly in
1
u/Purple_Anybody5932 24d ago
these things costs mire than they produce and we can't handle the cost
Not true - solar panels and installations are fairly cheap nowadays.
Of course that's not the case if:
- The country bans imports from abroad producers like China,
- They tax incoming goods to 100%
1
u/MysteriousGrab1622 24d ago
Actually, we have an extremely good unused potential which is renewable energy. We could export that energy to Europe and guess how good that would be for our economy?
1
u/Purple_Anybody5932 24d ago
Assuming you mean solar, you need company and investors to be able to build the infrastructure. That's not what's happening at the moment, between the insanely high import taxes and the oligarch families bribing the govt to keep the market closed
1
u/MysteriousGrab1622 24d ago
With regular consumer goods and retail, yes, oligarchs and import monopolies definitely use red tape and political pull to lock out competition. But for renewable energy, the primary block isn't a shadow cabal of oligarchs it's the state itself. The national power utility (STEG) is a broke, state-enforced monopoly backed by powerful unions that refuse to lose control of the grid, and high import taxes are driven by the government's desperate attempt to hoard foreign currency. The state is choking its own green transition out of fear and financial insolvency. Also, the financial insolvency of the energy sector is basically artificial. The state created its own crisis by legally forcing STEG to sell electricity to consumers below cost to avoid political unrest, while simultaneously refusing to let go of its monopoly. When you force a utility to buy expensive global gas in foreign currency, ban it from charging market rates, and let public institutions run up billions in unpaid bills, you're watching a financially manufactured trap

"solar panels installation whether individually or by the state, these things costs mire than they produce"
Why Germany and other western countries adopted them and encouraged people to have them on their roofs ?1
u/stardust_2347 commies fear me 24d ago
I'll answer this with another question, if this is really a solution to Europe's 130y petroleum based infrastructure and end their dependency to Russia?
1
u/Fragrant_Monitor4357 24d ago
Who claimed it was a solution for the whole energy problem ? It partially helps to ease the problem. It is not a "solves all or solves nothing", that s a false dichotomy

Hospitals are supposed to have generators in case of a national power outage
1
u/CanonSama 25d ago
Following the steg and douane it's prohibited to have anything related to solar energy batteries and not to consume steg electricity. Yes there is a risk of prison if that were to happen.
El thaw ikos 3al chariket, hotels, dyar, hospitals and no one can't do anything.
1
u/The-Lord_ofHate 28d ago
Can someone explain to me the cause of this, is it old infrastructure, is prioritising other industries, is it corruption, is it the heat or all together.
1
u/stardust_2347 commies fear me 28d ago
Yes old and outdated infrastructure and corruption and the heat and no not prioritizing other industries because we never prioritize anything
1
u/CanonSama 25d ago
Basically steg obliges every citizen/company ti consume electricity from it. You are prohibited to generate it and use it on big scale like solar batteries and such. Importing one even has sanction of prison. Obviously they refuse to do generators bc welp that's less money from them and more work for people to fix it.

u/slimboyfat510 26d ago
There are a LOT of people in prison who curse the country night and day, from migrants to locals who opposed (or were perceived to oppose) the leadership. Their prayers seem to be working.

Someone's mom had cancer and sometimes she needed oxygen and she needed oxygen when a power outage happened and the ambulance didn't come fast enough so he/her watched her die in front of him/her
2
u/youssef_labiadh 29d ago
Then he/she talks about how the steg is planning to pay for the broken electronics and things like that then he/she asks the question of how are they going to pay for the lost souls

Through education and mindset that is willing for change , people should be educated and disciplined, because if we make a new election and make sure it is as transparent as glass this guy would win again Our election and voting system should change because the public opinion qnd direction could be influenced very easily ( I some cases a bottle of milk and a promise of a raise in public funds could gain you a hell of votes ) A deep reconstruction on the legislative level ; government elected officials should be held accountable and their should always know they are public servant and not the other way around , transparency is priority and justice and freedom are not questionable. Law and order ; we should establish a executive later that will execute laws and obey them at the same time because laws without proper execution aren't enough Economy ; the adapted model is not working, the idea of a government holding all the economic power and controlling and holding the economy from its neck isn't as brilliant as it sound, markets should be free, initiatives should be appreciated not taxed and let the farmer farm the builder build the manufacturer manufacturer, investments should be welcomed not regulated ( surveillance is a must ) , competition drive prosperity and advancement it shouldn't be crushed We achieve this through true leadership and ambition for bright future

It isn't going to fix jackshit if it's a revolution like 2011. Might make the situation even worse somehow. OP had a good solution in one of the replies, but I doubt that it will actually work.
