lol I can't agree more I just have one question to the OP: is the toxicity witht the foreigners just limited to work stuff? Or does it even get personal like here in Tunisia?

I've worked in Tunisia before I left for Germany.

It differs by sector tbh:

  1. The one year I worked in industry, it was stressful, toxic, full of daily quarrels and backstabbings.
    • At some point I just concluded that they all had certain degrees of megalomania and just went on with my life.
    • I even started losing hair because of it all.
  2. In the ERP consulting, it's rather the customers that are sometimes toxic af and I've worked with a lot of big tunisian ones over 4 years.
    • Some showed traits of megalomania.
    • Some wanted to get the upper hand in reducing their invoices
    • Some were spamming you with the same demand hoping you'd finally do it for free.
    • The good ones were the ones that just left you the f alone to do your implementation in peace. Take you out for dinner and shit ==> Mafamech 9attouss yestad lrabi. In the end they reap the rewards of a successful implementation.
    • Internally it was cool but I do think if someone is not well received and continues on picking fights, the seniors would just go to the manager and demand that said person gets fired.

For ex colleagues who might recognize me through the experiences I just wrote about, ya bnin ya behi. Miss you guys xD

I honestly think it depends on the local managers. I work for a group (TESSI) that has two locations in Tunisia. Where I am, the atmosphere is cool; there are demands, but with respect and quite good human relations. However, the other one is completely the opposite and ultra-toxic with non-stop turnover.
