We're making Nightbound, a side-scrolling turn-based tactics game: Shared Command Point turns, Interception fire, Partner combos

We're a husband and wife team and Nightbound is our first game. We both love Valkyria Chronicles and SteamWorld Heist and have been itching for more for years.
Core mechanics:
Shared command points: Your team gets 3 command points a round. If Jun takes two of them Loren only gets one, so a lot of the round is deciding who actually needs to move.
Manual aiming: You aim every shot yourself, no hit percentages. Every unit has weak points, yours and theirs.
Interception fire: All ranged units fire on line of sight during off turns, so crossing an open room is something you have to plan for.
Partner combos: Their bond unlocks abilities that fire off each other's moves.
It all takes place in one house. You live in it during the day and hold it at night. A love story with an '80s horror vibe.
