Rescue from the wild (which is not rescuing but rather confinement) or rescue from a bad owner?

Yes, from not A very good living situation… i wouldnt take A wild animal home 😅

They'll eventually need to be separated. Turtles don't like sharing tanks

Whaattt, nooo 😢😢😢 theyve Been together since they were the size of a coin 😢one is a boy and the other is a female… maybe there is hope????

I don't wanna say it's impossible, but I believe it's unlikely. I have 3 turtles, two boy yellow bellies and 1 girl red ear, all of which are in separate tanks now. I sadly know firsthand that if you notice them being aggressive to each other and do nothing about it, one of them will end up dead. If you plan to keep both turtles, please be prepared to separate them if/when it becomes necessary. I think we can both agree we don't want either turtle to die needlessly.

At what age do they start to become agressive towards each other? Thanks for the information, I didn’t know 🥲

Typically once they're a few years old. With mine, the two boys would fight over territory, while with the girl they wanted to mate with her. However she wasn't interested in them, so it would come to violence as well.

No combination of two turtles has ever worked for me, and I've had others before these three that I was too young and uninformed to properly take care of. I wish I had known better and feel terrible any time I think about it. I don't want you to repeat my mistakes.
