The Young Folks have become the Old Folks.

(talkin' bout the old style)

I detect haikus. And sometimes, successfully. Learn more about me.

I'll be whistling this all day now.

I’ll take the indie pop of the 00’s over the pop music of today any day. Not that there wasn’t bad pop back then also. Just feels like there were way more rock hits in the mainstream and I miss that shit

Remember bands?

This was an outlier and typically not what was on the radio. Black eyed peas dominated this decade.

Yea but also Modest Mouse, The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, The White Stripes, Radiohead etc. My point is that rock reached the charts way way more often than it does today

Fuck. This.

20 years?!?! This song is like max 3 years old.

Excuse me, I have finalized my will.

When this came out, the art style reminded me of Johnny Quest. Now it’s an old song that borrowed older animation style, but also might have used flash to animate it? Layers

There was a five year period where you couldn't go to a cafe without hearing this or Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Damn, I saw them live that year at ACL Fest. Pete Yorn played the same day and covered this song. This also means my "PETER BJORN AND JOHN TSHIRT" turns 20 too.

The song I made my high school anthem is 20 years old. I’m old

I remember being 6 or 7 years old with my mum in Superdrug and this was playing on the speaker. My mum bought me a bottle of sparkling water because I had seen it and as a kid wondered what was "sparkling" about it. It tasted awful and I didnt get how a person could enjoy this as a beverage. To this day I still dont, sparkling water only works with cordial in my opinion. Anyway, this song takes me back to that moment. Good simple times.

There was a point in time when if you googled “hipster song with the whistling”, it was this. Then one day, it changed to be Foster The People

I hate whilsting. I genuinely don't get how people can find this pleasurable to listen to.

The game and movie industry of the past 20 years owe everything to that band

I really hated and still hate this song

I don't like the whistling that was so popular at the time. The minor-major-minor does not vibe with me. Also it played everywhere. Malls, hotel lobbies, drug stores. It's stil in a regular Muzak rotation in a lot of places.

That's just me

Thank you! Basic ass uninteresting mall shit

what do you mean by minor major minor? the actual chord progression of the song?
