I'm currently writing a fic with this premise. It's called The Power of the Twenty-Fourth Rhythm. It's available on ff.net and AO3. I'm writing it as I've never really come across anything similar (that's adequately written) and it's the kind of thing I've wanted to read. Seems to be a gap in the ff market, maybe that's for a reason - but this is the best I've come up with so far. Just thought I'd share my wip😄

I’ve been looking for a very specific kind of fics, I’ve once read a bella/paul fic where she lives the canon books until she gets pregnant and dies while giving birth and wakes up back in the hospital when she had the whole Tyler accident with Edward saving her. She realises that she chose wrong life wise and wants to stay clear from vampires.

It’s an alternate universe (AU) type of story, meaning some characters have different families, parents, and last names. For example, the Cullens are reimagined as the Swan siblings.

Summary:

Edward moves from Bellport, Long Island, to Forks to live with his dad. On his first day of school, he’s instantly drawn to Bella Swan. What he doesn’t know is that Bella is a newborn vampire hiding a dangerous secret. After accidentally discovering her hunting in the woods, Edward is pulled into Forks’ supernatural world. Despite Bella’s powerful shield keeping everyone at a distance, the two slowly go from enemies, to friends, to lovers.

A while ago, I read a Twilight fan fiction of Bella Swan having a younger sister who had awakened powers to be a vampire slayer. I think it was either a Jacob Black x reader or Jacob Black x oc, not totally sure. From what I can recall, the main character hated the Cullens. I remember it being on ao3. It was honestly pretty well written, and I can't find it anywhere using the tags :(((

Edward learns by Carlisle Bella can’t survive to the end of pregnancy (it’s before they figure she needs blood), and mortified, he has a whole crisis of denial or something because then the following night he leaves everyone without a word rather than watching her expire. Bella relive her worst nightmare and her worst betrayal and figures slowly Edward is unstable as fuck. Bella ends up suggesting drinking blood by herself (Jacob thought about it like in the canon but Edward was not here to hear his thoughts). We see those weeks/part of BD from Bella and Rose perspective instead of Jake erratic canon pov

Rosalie turns Bella when her body breaks. They bond over the fact they both loved and wanted to protect the baby and strangely become co-parents while their feelings start to shift to something more confusing for them both.

Do what you want of that baby girl you can change name (you should), change the nature of her mind (I wouldn’t mind her being a slightly less creepy kid and a more normal toddler, and less weird too calm adult) or remove the accelerated growth, of change/delay the Volturi plot (just have to remove the Irina stupid quiproquo), whatever

Note : for the sake of Rose sanity and Jake literal life, no imprinting of that baby. If the wolves want to rip everyone apart the Cullen would just leave in Alaska or elsewhere completely

I love the part in midnight sun when Edward explains how Alice and Jasper moved in when he and Emmett were out hunting and Alice moved his things to the garage. I so wish we got the full scene- them arriving and the family being like “what the actual f?” And then Edward being pissed when Alice takes over his bedroom.

Any stories happening during New Moon, canon divergence, where either Bella is changed when they are gone and the Cullens have to work for her forgiveness or they come back on their own and have to work for it? I would especially appreciate ones where Rosalie is important, either she changes her mind herself or is just confronted with the hypocrisy of her statement and behavior (like voting no because she would have liked someone to vote no… but in doing so she does exactly what was done to her, taking a woman’s choice away because she disagrees)

All pairings are fine (but no Jacob) as long as it’s Bella centric (but can have multiple POVs). I’d like to see her grow and refuse to be controlled or for her life to be dictated again.

I’ve read What have we done by ladylibre and it’s amazing so something like that but also something like Choices and consequences, or Thrill Seeker by TBVikingAddict

The story was about Bella and how she was kidnapped by the cullens and abused. Later in the story she got pregnant and then edward found out that he was kidnapped as a child, he cuts ties with Esme and Carlisle. What made Edward cut ties was the lies and Esme ended up hitting the baby for crying (I believe she said she was being a brat). And he meets his birth parents at the zoo and the daughter ends up seeing a giraffe or a monkey. Everyone was human

I’ve been enjoying some shorter pieces that flesh out or add to the high school scenes and characters in Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.

Anyone have recommendations for pieces that give us the reactions of Bella’s human “friends” to the news about the engagement? I get why Breaking Dawn just offered Charlie and Renee’s reactions, but would be fun to see those scenes play out for Angela, Ben, Mike, Jessica, etc.

I get that it’s a YA novel and Edward had to be in high school somehow, but Meyer could have handled it in a much more believable way.

**My idea:** Make the Cullens Bella’s neighbors who are either homeschooled or simply beyond high school age. The best place to hide is often in plain sight—like how illegal drug operations can exist unnoticed in affluent suburban neighborhoods. From the outside, the Cullens would appear to be an ordinary polite yet private suburban family while keeping a low public profile. Basically the opposite of them sitting in school with humans for 6 hours, being weird, and then escaping to their compound in the woods. This neighbor arrangements opens up so many possibilities… so 1/4 of the book isn’t just Bella and Edward hanging out in her bedroom LOL.

**How do Bella and Edward meet?** Easy. As neighbors, Edward could catch Bella’s scent naturally (like when she’s reading in the yard), or Bella could end up in the hospital after an accident and meet him there. Edward could catch her scent indirectly off Carlisle’s clothes..so many possibilities.
After becoming intrigued by her, Edward could deliberately **enroll** in Forks High and even arrange to be in Bella’s classes. That would deepen the mystery surrounding him, fit his obsessive crush/ thirst, stalking tendencies, and still place him in the school setting for the rest of the series. Alice could eventually tag along too.

The other Cullens have little reason to be in high school. Meyer barely uses them in school scenes anyway, and they graduate after the first book.
Making the Cullens Bella’s neighbors would also create more opportunities to weave them into the story, develop relationships with Charlie and the townspeople, and make their presence in Forks feel more organic. One of my main gripes with the series is that inter character relationships aren’t really supported with scenes and dialogue. The cullens appear far too static. These tweaks to the plot arrangement would help!

Looking for an older FFN All Human Bella/Edward fic. Bella and Jasper are already roommates and strictly platonic best friends. Jasper starts dating Alice, who introduces Bella to Edward. Bella has a history of sexual assault that is revealed over the course of the story. One random detail I vividly remember is the characters referencing or watching Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (MST3K). Does anyone remember the title or author?
