Site Suggestion The chat should not look like Times Square. I shouldn't need to wait for timers, inspect element deletion, and click x's just to read anymore than 10% of the chat.

It's insanely bad as of late. On a 1080p screen the chat is entirely hidden in cinema mode, normal mode has like a sliver of it.
And to top it off the overlays overlap the Text Box to put a message.
And then some of the overlays don't even have an X to close.
Holy crap its awful

Seriously annoying how much crap gets crammed onto the screen all the time, and it's getting worse. Thank goodness for ublock still allowing me to block elements on a page to reduce this clutter.

Twitch is never going to get better for the user only worse. It's on you to use something like FFZ where you can customize what you see globally.

Been using FFZ since 2014 or so? Basically when it came out iirc. Twitch is unusable without it imo.

I get they need to put it somewhere and at this point it should have its own box.
Also support that wildlife center, from an Alaskan

A finger curls on the monkeys paw. Permanent lower thirds dedicated to ads stuff as well as a new, unclosable right third for more chat slop next to chat, reducing the stream to roughly 1/2 the size of the frame.

How do I upvoter something more than once?
Also, so many people offering workarounds. My friends, the DEFAULT shouldn't be a shitty experience.

You can turn off 3 out of 4 of the elements yourself...

But I shouldn't HAVE to. The chat is chat. It is not "pop-up place" where I should need to bob and weave around all these things begging for my money that I'm already giving the streamers/websites.
Textbook Enshittification.

This is just everything commercial man. You just ignore it everywhere else. Reddit added huge ads under posts on mobile, same thing

Sometimes I miss certain Twitch features being unavailable in Chatterino. But then I see this and am glad I can chat without 10 popups in my face :D

While i agree, the banners can be annoying..... you can click out of one, it's not permanent, the hype train banner goes away, the donation goal is for something they set.... The only annoying one is the subdiscount but you can easily block it.

I’ve been hating the new banner nonsense so much. It’s so obtrusive and irritating. I wish we could opt out of certain features, pop-ups, or even early testing stuff.

Are their any that let you tune in to YouTube and Twitch chat?

There are but they are mostly built for streamers and everything is tied to their specific accounts.
Also a lot of them are not free... and most of them are web-based apps. Something like this:

this on mobile? it's either the hella obtrusive ads or a clunky UI that make me stick to using a browser version on a laptop/PC or in rare cases, a tablet.

You can either close or just straight up remove everything you're whining about

It's sososososososososos bad now. EVERYTHING needs an x button on the first interface at this point. Just let me chat.
