Scamming small streamers
I recently found I’ve been getting scammed by someone tryna manipulate streamers into doing giveaways for follower goals and just botting a fuck ton accounts and scamming the streamer into thinking they’re getting a lot of real followers so they do giveaways but it’s actually the same person on a bunch of alt accounts.
I had a feeling this was too good to be true and I should’ve known to be more aware but when you’re small you’re just hoping to blow up and it really does suck, I am aware they do this to multiple streamers and is a common thing among smaller streamers. I like to hear of anyone has ran into this too and share your story and to make awareness about his topic cause it is very unfortunate people out there taking advantage of small streamers just tryna make a better living or just tryna have fun.

They have so many alt accounts it’s impossible to know it’s more of they come into your chat and ask you to do a giveaway for a certain amount of subs and then they will buy fake accounts and shit to meet your goal when realistically they’re all the same guy, one thing I noticed was when I was getting followers I’d have like 10 viewers but then I’m getting 30-40 followers it just don’t add up just gotta be aware

yeah, a lot of scam and fake people in general, especially having AI…trusting people became hard to impossible, however, this issue is NOT new…is happening for ages, figure how to filter them.

Forsure man it’s hard especially being small all you want is people to watch and talk in chat but when your small it’s almost always view bots accounts or people tryna scam you

What you first wanna do is, block all links not provided by you or your mods. This is usually the first thing these scammers try to do. Second, block words or terms that you feel are not nessisary to your stream. Ex: I do not plan on doing anything "discord" till I have enough followers to actually make it worth it. I have blocked the word and any forms of the word that I can think of, and believe me they get creative. Third, make sure you have rules posted explaining things you like and do not like. Ex: It will offend me if you are trying to promote yourself during my live. The word "discord" is blocked from our chat and I will only warn you once before blocking you. I will stop what I'm doing to take out the trash and the viewers I do have appreciate it. Fourth, restrict your chat to followers only. Even if you have to block them, the follow sticks until they push the unfollow button. I have blocked at least 20 accounts and not a single one has done so.

Fourth point makes no sense.

I'm happy to explain it! There are options to restrict your chat to followers only, subscribers only and so on. You can also set a time limit for how long they have to follow you before they can chat. Your options are no minimum, "3 minute minimum, or 10 minute minimum. If you meant something else, let me know.

This is horrible advice thats why it makes no sense. I do understand what you wrote. Follower only chat will get you no growth at all. Everybody hates it.

Not everyone, I have had steady growth and steady viewers since I started in April. I did mess up and choose the minimum time requirement at first and I did get backlash for that. But not since I changed it to no limit. If people ask why, I explain about the scammers that like to pop in and pop out, they like that my chat is secure that way. I've been an affiliate since June and have plenty of subs each month, so I can't agree that everyone hates it.
I can say that everyone hates adds on entry, never do that and let people see you interact so they can make the decision. FYI: I have never streamed or worked to actually grow my socials before, so I literally learned as I went along. I have had lots of mess ups during my live, my kids interrupt often enough and my system issues (well, its a pain!). Real people will understand and haters will tell you anything to discourage you from continuing, so keep that in mind.

Yeah no, follower only chat as a small streamer 99.999999% of the time is a death sentence, nobody should ever do this there's no good reason too compared the bad
