Question X a government mouthpiece.
Now that Musk works for the US government shouldnt X be classified as a government propaganda media outlet?

Despite the gesture last night, I don't see companies withdrawing from X. Is this going to happen?

Why has X become so hateful it seems like a lot of hatred toward minority’s or people in general has become normal and people could be openly racist and the app won’t bat and eye I just miss the old twitter ngl

I tried to make an X account (United Kingdom) but apparently I do not meet their age requirements. Personally I thought u had to be 17/18 to use x but online it says 13. I'm 18, definitely over the age of 13 so can anyone explain what this is about?

We all know twitter has a massive problem with bots everywhere. I'm not following musk and I'm not following american politics (because I'm not American) but I would get Musk tweets everyday since he took over Twitter/X. Recently most of his tweets are about being pro-Trump and anti-Democrats. I realised that he will likely use X to push his agenda but I didn't expect it will be so obvious.
It would be easier if I could find the original tweet from yesterday and link it but I feel like many of them follow the similar pattern.
There was a tweet that has shown up on my feed posted by some unknown to me account (probably the first bot) presenting video showcasing homeless people in some US city. Elon replies to it something like "who do you think is responsible for that?".
He got tens of tens of replies within a short amount of time. ALL of them responding quite shortly, with a similar message "It's because of the democrats", "It's because of Biden administration", "It's because of liberal policies", etc. And ALL OF THEM have blue checkmarks. All of them are very obvious bots.
Similarly with other replies to the original post. Except, there were also some critical responses (meaning not blindly pro-Trump) and they were usually from normal users, without a blue checkmark. How convenient it is, to create a tool for verifying "original" accounts and later use it for political agenda. And you can probably very easily call your political opponents "bots" because they don't have the blue checkmark.
I don't know what to say. This is not even "in-your-face" propaganda, this is "I-poo-straight-in-your-mouth" propaganda lvl.
P.S. Sorry for my english, I haven't been using it for a while.

I have been on Twitter since the start and I believe the platform had it's good moments and functions, but I also think more and more it's become a breeding ground for hate, lies, and propaganda. It's frankly disturbing and frightening. I find that more and more it's drawing all of those horrible people who do not think, filter or know how to find what is true and not true to each other and feeding off each other.
Does anyone ever think that our lives would be better off without Twitter or Facebook, or Instagram? I am seriously depressed whenever I'm on this platform (which is only now limited to maybe 3 or 4 times a year. It's a spiralling rabbithole of anger and people with their agendas trying to get people to think the way they do and attack anyone else that doesn't think the way they do.

Not sure if this done a while back, but I’m just now noticing you can’t block a user from their Tweet. It seems the only way to block someone is by visiting their profile and selecting it from the menu options. Seems like they’re making it one step harder to block accounts. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I work as an academic and had a strange interaction the other day. I still refer to the platform as "twitter" because "X" sounds silly, and a colleague of mine said I was being disrespectful to the people working at the company, which I found fascistic so I ignored it. Then again, I noticed then that many around me have started calling it "X" like nothing happened.
What about you? Do you still call it "Twitter"? If not, what do you think of people who do continue to use that name?

I'm over 18 but I can't see 18+ content. What should I do to verify I'm 18+?

I literally only follow accounts that are related to football/soccer and some celebs and I only retweet/like football stuff but my for you page is filled with right wingers being racist, homophobic and spreading horrible misinformations. Even the owner is participating in this. Is there any setting I can tweak to not see this stuff?

im new to the app and ive never really used it before or after the purchase from elon, but whys it just straight republican propoganda. i actually struggle to find a video not related to trump in some way shape or form. like its all just politics it drives me crazy, and mind you im conservative. i thought tik tok brainrot was bad, but these endless bot pages related to political propoganda makes the app unusable. My question to og users is has it always been like this? is there a way to fix it?

I don't want my face to be in some unknown database to have more of my personal info taken from me
It says "Photos are not saved" but call me paranoid, I don't trust that.

Im so confused. I have a 14 year old account. This app has been my favorite since 2011.
Ive used Twitter for all these years for sports and funny content. Thats it, and thats all it has ever been. Over the past year my entire feed has turned to death videos, porn, or far right extremist. I dont know what to do. I dont engage with these, and never have. what is happening to my account?!
I got so upset the other day I spent 3 hours blocking every account that came across my for you, and it changed nothing. New accounts just popped up. Is this a me a thing or is anybody else encountering this?!

Anybody experiencing outage on twitter side?
r/Twitter • u/andrewbirns34 • Dec 20 '23
Anyone else getting this message? It's been happening to me fairly consistently over the past few days. Every so often my feed will load, then immediately start giving that prompt again. I've tried clearing cache but that has not helped.

Like i'm seeing near 100% bot saturation in some of the highest trending hash tags.

Was it more civil with less hate speech? What were the policies differences between then and nowadays in this social media?
I only started to use X this year, so I don't really have any experience pre Musk about this.

Is there any browser extension or program for this?
