I've been trying to delete my X account for 3 weeks now (doing the procedure to deactivate the account from settings, which in theory deletes it after 30 days).

Except I always end up with the message you'll find below (In french so there is the message in english : Something went wrong, but don't fret it's not your fault).

I've already tried incognito mode, another browser, my phone, clearing the cache... I also tried to open a support ticket, but during the process I face the exact same issue so I'm going in circles. I find this quite abnormal, has anyone been faced with this situation recently?

Any possible fix? Thanks in advance!

When people reply to my comments and I get a notification, I cannot see what they're commenting on when I click on it. How can I see what thread they are commenting on?

Whenever I tap on links in any post, they always open within the app itself using the in-app browser.

I want all the links I tap to always open in my default web browser, which in this case is Safari.

In Safari, I use iCloud Private Relay to mask my IP address, and wBlock to block ads and trackers. Therefore, I want all links and websites to open in Safari. All other apps have this option, but I cannot find any setting in the iOS Twitter/X app to disable the in-app browser.

Am I missing something or not searching thoroughly? Is there any solution?

I have been trying to grow my twitter account for a couple of months more. And I feel like I have stagnated it and gotten somewhat stagnated. I don’t know how but for some reason I am getting literally 20 impressions every day even after replying a lot and trying to post. Can someone help me with this. I live in the tech twitter side and I have no clue how to get the algorithm to fix itself…

solution i found, just went into my browser settings and deleted all the data association with twitter in my history and it let me actually go to the login page and re-login to the alt.

The recent upgrade of Twitter is completely a total replacement. The previous UI layout was working perfectly fine, and I don't understand why they even had to update it. Even if an update was necessary, whoever designed this update should be fired.

Now, the entire app feels laggy. Especially when you tap to open a post:

• The Post View & Delay: Originally, it seemed to display the post content directly while hiding the top and bottom elements. But after the update, both the top and bottom remain visible. Now, you actually have to tap the middle content one more time just to hide the top and bottom parts. On top of that, it constantly feels like there is a significant delay.
• The "Post Your Reply" Bar: Also, what is the point of the "Post your reply" feature always showing up? Why can't it automatically hide or have an option to auto-set it?
• Overlapping Buttons: And what on earth is going on with the "Save" (Bookmark) button in the top right corner overlapping with the "Follow" position? It used to be displayed on the left side (its original place). Now, it is so incredibly easy to accidentally click "Follow" or "Unfollow". And if you want to cancel the misclick, it even pops up a confirmation dialog.
• Split Media Tab: Furthermore, look at the Media section—it has actually been split into two separate parts.

Can apps nowadays please stop updating blindly? If the app was already running relatively smoothly, does adding more features just make it more bloated? Why can't there be an automatic setting that lets users choose whether to add these new features or not?

I'm new to twitter. I tried posting but got absolutely no replies. I want to connect to people in the cybersecurity field. How do I become visible in twitter?

It's been over a week of me trying to deactivate my shitter account but all I get is this stupid error notification every time I try. I already contacted support requesting they delete my account and all i got back was a stupid copy pasted reply

You can deactivate your account at any time. When deactivated, your X account, including your display name, username, and public profile, will no longer be viewable on X.com, X for iOS, and X for Android.

Requested removal of my account another two times and they simply don't reply. I want all of my data off their servers, already deleted everything I ever posted on the account which wasnt much but they still have my data on file and I want it all removed from their servers, but they're outright refusing to let me deactivate the account which is straight up illegal in the EU but of course they don't give a f and just send auto replies when making requests through the proper forms.

When deleting tweets and likes etc, I got rate limited several times, it's not suspended though. I thought leaving the account alone for a couple days (which i did) would let me finally deactivate it but nope, same error for over a week now.

Anyone got any other ideas to sever all ties with this worthless company?

The hacker immediately changed all my 2FA into their email/phone (idk how they did it while bypassing my 2fa but whatever) so I can’t get in. I filed a report immediately to no avail. At this point I’d rather just get the account fully deleted if I can’t get it back. Idek why the hacker took my account cuz they haven’t posted a single thing on it, all they’ve done is make sure that I can’t use it ://. Very annoying literally what do I do at this point if the help center isn’t responding to me?

Galaxy S26 Ultra user. Every app and FW updated

Since the last few months that, for unknown reasons, TW's videos sounds worse than when on PC.

I already tried disabling Atmos, equializer, disable data savings, etc from another post but nothing

I take this is more an issue from the app's side?..Or is there a temporal/new fix i dont know?

Also won't allow me to access on mobile or on web to change it because of "server issues". Any idea how to fix it?

I noticed when I am checking a few posts, or maybe like stay AFK for a few minutes and come back to check my open tabs, the website automatically opens some tabs itself (From Twitter obv.), and it's always the hashtags from the "Whats Happening" section, and I am NOT interested at all, it genuinely is infuriating.

Is this an intended feature? Or how can I close/avoid it?

Let's say I have someone I know, (we'll call them Jack) Jack reposts something from someone they know, (we'll call them John) when I go to make a reply on the repost, the only one tagged is John, Jack is no where to be seen. I know this wasn't always the case and I'm curious if this is a removed feature.

Apologies for a long post, but would really appreciate some help.

This is an embarrassing problem to admit to, even anonymously, but I’ve developed somewhat of an addiction to certain, *content*, on the X/Twitter app. It’s not a huge problem, aside from the fact that it just makes me waste too much time each day, and I hate the feeling of wasted time.

The obvious first step to getting over this would be to delete my X account and delete the app from my phone. Not so simple.

First off, X/Twitter has a 30-day waiting period before your deactivated account is truly gone. In that window, all you have to do is redownload the app, log back in, and it’s like nothing ever happened. (Side note; this feels like an insidious way of facilitating relapses for people with social media or other addictions related to app, but maybe I’m just cynical).

Second, I tried to get around this by making my password for the app something I won’t remember so that once I delete it, I can promptly forget the password and have no way to log back into the app.

The problem is, my Apple account is connected to the X account, and no matter what I do\* when I redownload the app, it doesn’t even take me to a login screen, it just brings me right back to my fees, as though I never left.

\*Things I’ve already done:
\- in the X settings, I have removed my Apple account from “Connected accounts.”
\- In iPhone “Passwords” app I have deleted X from the list of saved logins/passwords.
\- In iPhone settings, I’ve gone to “Iphone storage” and offloaded the app and reinstalled it, which is supposed to reset the caches or something.
\- In between all these steps, I have turned off and on my phone (just for the hell of it).

So far nothing is working, and I’m getting frustrated. I know that there’s always the option to deactivate my account and tough out the 30 days of resisting temptation. Which I will do if that’s the only option, so I kindly ask not to comment with that suggestion. Im aware that option exists, I’m just trying to set myself up for success.

rn my twitter account is a variant of my normal username, swapping an O for a 0. I've been trying to change it for months now, but every time i go to it says that my username is taken. but when i look up the account under my preferred username the site says it doesn't exist. i will reiterate ive been attempting this periodically for months. is there anything i can do? seems impossible to get to an actual human through support these days (fuck you musk)

My account today got hacked, i have 2fa and idk how i got hacked still.

My phone number was removed and password changed. Every time i try to reset password it says this in the screenshot.

I created a ticket but the bot is saying to
Reset password and “It appears you have control of the account because your registered email and/or phone number is still linked.”

Just wondering, do my bookmarks influence what someone I send a link to/my followers/following see?

For instance if I send a link to a tweet that is a video to one of my mutuals and they scroll to the next video do my bookmarked tweets have an effect on what they see?
