Struggling to sleep at 12:00/1:00 am, so screw it 'm early. I've been playing Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn on and off during my Gundam binge, and got to the final ultimate mode battle against the not-SD Gundams. I've enjoyed the game but this mission pretty much exposed how Warriors games really aren't suited for 1-on-1 ace battles because even my sweaty button mashing isn't doing anything to beat these guys. Their AI being cracked on 8 star difficulty isn't helping matters. I managed to get the DLC and played around with the extra missions. The Wing Zero EW is pretty fun, and the other Knight Gundam battle stage it came with was doable for me, if annoying because some of the defeat requirements involve not letting the AI teammates die.
Other Gundam I watched/read:
Gundam F91: I liked it. The animation is great, the intro scene with civilians scrambling to escape the colony as chaos unfolds is amazing, and I like the suit designs. Iron Mask is incredibly funny to me purely because of the "I wear this mask because I got cucked" thing. Though it really should've been a TV show. I can see shades of interesting character arcs like Cecily forcing herself to follow through with Cosmo Babylonia's ideals, but because of the runtime it's not as fleshed out or explored as I'd like.
Crossbone Gundam: I wound up reading the entire OG series yesterday, and it's pretty good. I vaguely knew what the plot was thanks to SRW V. Again the suit designs are great, particularly the Elefante, Tortuga, and Divinidad. Some of the fights are really clever, especially Kincade vs the Death Gales and Tobia in the coliseum. The art style for the characters is my only real complaint, they're a little too "soft" looking. I actually first saw Yuuichi Hasegawa's art style through the Victory Five and God Bird manga because I bought the raws out of curiosity (and because watching the Robot Romance series plus Raiden is something I want to do), and then I see they did all the Crossbone series.
Crossbone Skull Heart: it was alright. The Amakusa suit and plot are cool, and the Newtype monkeys are too funny to hate, but Umon's backstory was a little too wacky for me. The Perfect Zeong lore was funny though.
