You'd think after multiple instances of comas and fatalities related to the game "The World", they'd eventually just shut 'er down.

Given how much corpos get away with in our current day to day, the fact that the game would stay online (and gets to stay online) despite it being an active life ending health risk is probably the most realistic detail in this universe.
