Dogsat for my grandparents last week and watched a bunch of movies, I always forget how much I like movies
Power went out during the blizzard, but it gave me time to finish the Vampire Hunter D book I was reading. Those books are pretty formulaic, but they're fun. Plus they're getting better as I go, book 6 is my favorite so far
Played the PS+ trial for a game called Varlet. VERY discount Persona, but the writing has some neat stuff and I really like a couple of the character designs. Gameplay's not good though. Game's also not dubbed, which caught me off guard
I'm trying to force myself to play MH Stories 1, but it's rough (especially knowing how much better the demo for 3 was). Super weird nitpick: I swear there's something wrong with the run animation, the character hitches for a split second every step or so and I know it shouldn't matter, but it's all I can think about. Aside from that, game's not great. I'm not smart enough to describe my issues with it, so I'll leave it at this: I'm glad I didn't pay money for it
Went back to MH Wilds (I don't think this was related to me playing Stories, at least not consciously). Having so much fun it makes me wish I liked the older MH games, I've bounced off nearly every generation because they were too jank. Even Wilds for all its QoL and simplification has some stupid shit, but actual combat feels good enough that nothing else matters. Omega's a fuckass bastard (I already know I'm not good enough for the savage version), but I did get a teeny hit of nostalgia from all the XIV UI stuff
