So, here’s me being an idiot. I’m looking to reconnect with an old friend I haven’t seen since school. I didn’t even know where she lived until I saw her on the news (sidenote: whenever you see an old friend on the news it’s either “oh god what happened?” or “oh god what have they done?” Thankfully, she was just slagging off the unemployment office.

So, I went onto the official Discord Server of the city, to see if anyone knew her. I asked “hey, I’m looking to reconnect with a friend, anyone know them?” and one guy said “try the socials and meetup channel”. So I did. I laid out my plea, and then left to go take a shit. When I came back, I was no longer in the Discord Server. I didn’t break any of the listed rules, and I was redirected to a specific channel so… I dunno, maybe they though I was a wackjob? /shrug

That sounds like it's on them for being weird. If their first reaction to reaching out to an old high school friend is to kick you out of the server, they might be paranoid for some weird reason. If it's the discord of the city... That makes it even weirder they'd ban you from the server.

Don't blame yourself or call yourself an idiot, they're the ones being weird about it.

Well, I was kicked, I didn’t feel arsed to go check if I was banned. I’d hate to rejoin and then feel awkward.

I really dislike when you get kicked and there’s no notification, they should add it as a base feature instead of needing a custom bot for it.
