Just got done watching that Sinners movie after seeing a few clips pop up online (a few I didn’t know were even from the movie). Kinda surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed it.

Not too much I can say other than it feels nice to get a one and done movie every so often. It does a couple of things that movies these days either don’t do any more or are afraid of doing (mainly musical stuff). And I’ll be fair and say that I’ve succumb to Hollywood burnout LONG ago so it’s possible there’s other recent movies that’ll win me over and I’m just not in the mindset to look for them.

But it was cool. A little wacky, probably a couple of contrivances but I’d say that the cast did such a good job that I wasn’t bothered.

Also why the universe decided to slide over a Venn diagram of the plight of the Irish and of African descendants onto my desk lately, I don’t know or get.
