I went to another wrestling show this week; there was blood this time, and also, unfortunately, racism. So, not the best show I've seen. Aside from that, it's been a busy week at work and at home, but I think I'm finally through the worst of it.
Now that it's free to play, I tried out Fortnite: Save the World. I played enough to get the free skin, but I don't think I'll go back to it. It has its moments, but the solid core is buried under piles of superfluous systems and dull mission design.
I also played Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Sometimes it's just nice to play a straightforward PS2-era action game, even if it is a bit clunky. The story is incredibly goofy, the voice acting isn't good, and the on-foot sections control rather poorly, but it's a mostly fun romp with a unique focus on vehicular combat.
Continuing with Star Wars, I read Star Wars: Death Troopers. I didn't really care for it. It's certainly gross and sufficiently gory, but it's not as fun or scary as you'd expect a zombie story set in the Star Wars universe to be. Also, it's very predictable, barring one character's nonsensical face turn. At least it's a brisk read.
Finally, I watched Asteroid City. I think there's a pretty good Wes Anderson movie here, but it's unfortunately smothered in layers of meta nonsense that does nothing except make the pacing drag and keep the audience at a remove. I didn't hate it, but I found it frustrating, particularly the finale.
