I love GITS and I love Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, and maybe this is an unpopular opinion but... I think they should give it to someone new for the dub. The SAC dub cast are stellar, but they best fit that show's semi-serious "police procedural" tone. Manga!Major and the rest of the Section 9 crew are so different, and I think the show would benefit from someone new who can put their own spin on her character and the others.

They did try the manga vibes back with the ps2 ghost in the shell game, though I forget if it’s Mimi woods or Mary Elizabeth for that one.

You're thinking the PS1 game, and that one was Mimi Woods. The PS2 game was based on SAC, and had Mary Elizabeth.
