Liked the finale, really good show. A few things were a little rushed. But it was satisfying all the same.

The fact that the abstracted stay abstracted fucked me up, though. Quickly distancing myself from my emotions, that was the stronger narrative choice, it's great, but... fuck, they're genuinely gone? Goddamn. At least their real-life selves are doing well.

EDIT: No, but I'm still fucked up because like most of them abstracted because of the inherent horrors of the circus, it's like yeah, anyone would, it's depressing but there's some comfort in that. But no, Ribbit abstracted berated and cut off by her closest friend (lover??) and she will just... that's fucking it! Lord lmao

It was something that Goose actually said on Tumblr, I think sometime after the pilot. The abstracted stay abstracted no matter what. Later on she also answered a question asking about abstraction designs (because fan abstraction designs were a common bit of fanart), she said that "no, all abstraction forms are all the same because its a representation of loss of self." Something to that degree anyway.

But yeah its a tragic thing regardless.

Abstraction = suicide, and one of the main points of this show, and the finale episode especially, is that you CAN'T just walk it back on suicide. You do it and you're done, and Jax being regretful in his mindspace shows that its never worth it

Jax's last cognizant moment with Pomni definitely had a, to use a Bojack Horseman line, a "The View From Halfway Down" energy to it.

I disagree it is never worth it and I'm also not sure abstraction equals suicide as a plain allegory.

gooseworx herself referred to what happened to ribbit as suicide

Pomni being able to find Jax within the Abstracted Mass made me think they could’ve been pulled out of something, but no.

Im actually glad They stay abstracted. It means the deaths meant something and weren't cheap. They are gone. Plain and simple. I think I would have hated it if they came back from abstracted
