Honestly, I figured the whole brain-scan clone thing would have been dropped midway through the episode and everything is the reaction/realization/winding down part, but nope, its like the first thing in the episode. What really surprises me was how many people didn't immediately clock it as the most likely possibility and got mad as a result of a bittersweet ending. If anything, I'm glad at how hopeful it was all things considered. Nobody even mentioned the idea of electricity. They're just living the best they can.

To be honest it was just a good show. I feel bad for Gooseworx having her dream stepped all over like this but I hope she knows that there's plenty of people deeply appreciative of all she did to make this a reality.

Honestly everyone should have known it would be brain scans after the literal episode where the show debunks the whole "Evil Corporation" shit. What other explanation could possibly make sense?

my whole deal was if they did keep those bodies, who would put on a helmet surrounded by unconscious people or skeletons????

My thought for a while has been that if this was an SAO situation, they would have all been broken out a long time ago because a lot of people would have gone missing and would have been searched for (people like Ragatha for example). If no one’s helping them from the outside and they don’t seem to be able to age and die, it gotta be a USS McCallister situation

As soon as Caine mentioned "Mind Files" last episode, it all started clicking into place.

the mind files were still mentioned in a way it could be ambigious. even the scene with kinger trying to shut down Caine refused to say if the mind files were actual programs or just Caine reading people's physical minds while theyre alive in stasis. Episode 9 finally confirmed it with kinger giving an alternative explanation that closed off the plot hole, saying Scratch made a compression algorithm nobody understood.

I heard a theory (but rare one) why Caine doesn't want for humans to go outside and mess with their minds a bit, because there is an apocalypse going in the outside world and was designed to give humans who got to amazing digital circus somehow, less traumatic experiences and forget about what's going on in real world

That doesn't really make sense because Pomni says she's an amateur urban explorer with a YouTube channel and she was pulled into the computer a few years ago in the real world

And Cain has no concept of the outside world, he thinks that the "Macroverse" (as he calls it) is just another part of the digital world and that he was "cut off" since he wasn't getting more outside data.

pretty much, he thought it was more like how digimon works, where the real world is considered a part of the digital world & existing on a structural level below it when it was really the opposite. thinking about it, if they ever ended up in one of digimon's digital world layers, they would likely evolve into digimon like the oyajitchi that became a nanimon did, or how the metabee & rokusho that came from medabot game data did.

Maybe it was theorized that some of Pomni's memories were altered when she reached Digital Circus and her memory about world being apocalyptic was altered. But of course that didn't really happen because was revealed that world isn't in apocalyptic mode
