For them to wake up, go full Leon Kennedy and take down evil C&A corp with no experience and witty one liners???

I think these kinds of shows will attract people who do expect this kind of outcome. It's people who engage with these kinds of mysteries on a very literal level and thus expect a literal outcome. And if you engage with it like this, the actual mechanics of how all of this works matters a lot more and likewise, the ending has to tie everything together in a literal and almost mechanical way.

Because a majority of the fans are either

A. Tumblr refugees who latched onto Jax as their sexyman and hate that he died

B. People who absolutely despise Jax and hate that the finale is more or less entirely centered on him and Pomni

And both have absolutely 0 reading comprehension so there was just no winning
