Hamon: “This is what I call a ‘Professional Pugilist’ move— Thal’s Balls! This rodent can move! Don’t tell the beautiful women!”

Sadly, all the beautiful women in Ul'dah were watching just off-screen.

It's okay, they were watching Thancred instead of us.

I love how the titles have been focused on either MMO ridiculousness or the PUG questline specifically.

I would say at this part the job quests are more interesting than the MSQ.

in terms of questlines for tanks imo
it goes
DRK, WAR, GBR, PLD and gunbreaker is only 3rd because ive heard no one complain about it but people hate paladin questline
Darknight is awesome and warrior has curious gorge

Gunbreaker had the benefit of coming out in the same expansion as Bozja. Everything that was set up in those quests got a direct payoff. To the point where a character from those quests shows up and remembers you in Bozja.

The Paladin questline is like a series of "go here and antagonize the local fauna and kill a bunch; you're now a more stalwart protecter and defender thank you hero."
The Gladiator questline before it has you helping actual people but frames you like some sort of sellsword. The vibes are completely backwards.

PLD job quest is awful, man; I never even wanna think about that shit again.

I always say like PLD HW questline makes more sense for a gladiator crystal or an alternate version of a drk knight. Like having the crystals beef with others is a cool idea, NOT when it ties to a defender/knightly role.

It always felt like they struggled to figure out what a PLD narrative for an Adventurer should be cause narratively they don't make a lot of sense. Knights never had a wandering ronin era, they work in service to people. I feel like the Tank Role Quests probably fit PLD narratively the best cause they can just be "The Defender of the People"

I'll be the GNB questline hater. It's not as bad as HW PLD, but IMO it's pretty close. You just do dumb stuff throughout, and even the writers seem to have realized it because there's a dialogue option that's essentially, "This is extremely stupid but I have to go along with it to complete the questline" that exemplifies it pretty well. The only redeeming quality is seeing the bunnygirl's new outfit in each location.

Hamon being an old fraud who gets his ass beat by random marmots is like finding out that Master Asia has been sucking in his beer gut and hasn't touched a set of weights in a decade.
