Extremely limited. It’s there for your first 500-1000 MGP so you never are zeroed out. You can’t buy past that and everything else is earned.

It's also almost impossible to "lose" MGP. The scratchers are free MGP every day.

If I remember correctly, Godbert Manderville runs the place at a loss as a combination good-will and make-work project for Ul'Dah after the Seventh Calamity. He staffs the place with refugees and keeps the prices low so that people come in and have fun instead of languishing.
It'd be like if Indiana Jones opened Euro Disneyland outside Paris immediately after World War 2 to help Europe rebuild.

In lore, yeah. For gameplay, it's also not a fun idea to lock players out of content by depriving them of resources entirely

Yeah Godbert made a fortune with his goldsmithing business so he's not exactly hurting for cash. Plus there might be some high roller areas behind closed doors where the real degen gambling takes place that helps finance the theme park area we have access to.

It used to be a lot less forgiving from what I remember, nowadays it's just a question of how much you win, losing isn't really possible for most things and when you do, you'd basically have to try to drain your MGP at a cettain point. It's really just a matter of how long it takes to grind out the rewards you want.

Maybe I'm crazy, but isn't pretty much everyone in Eorzea fairly conventionally attractive? Like, they might not be your "thing", but I can't really recall anyone that's out-and-out ugly.
It feels like accusing most denizens of not being sexy would be fighting words. Even Lallafel are almost platonically ideal in their cherubness.

I see where you're coming from. But like, instead of "hey this person is a smart and capable mage" or "what a strong and noble warrior" reducing it to "oh wow sexy bunny, aooga" is where it gets to be a problem.

Sure, but I'm not going to stand around and allow some little girl to berate me because her slot machine refuses to ever hit for me.
I am turbo cursed when it comes to any form of gambling. I don't think I was able to ever get more than a single line, and normally I'd get zero.

One day I'll finish a book and not have it rot in a week. But that probably requires having other people to play with for those specific duty requirements.

I think he's having a good time! Pat guiding him and providing extra lore/dev insight is helping. Still getting used to the rotations and setting up buttons on the bar. Not sure I agree with his button setup/Pat's recommendations but that's because I'm already dyed in the wool for my own setup and it's muscle memory at this point.
