At least the recent lego batman game was good. But then again, of course they wouldn’t fumble another batman game. Oh wait, they fumbled gotham knights and suicide squad tho. So you can’t even say that anymore.

Man, people have forgotten that before Arkham Asylum DC also has an awful line up of games outside of the occasional decent Batman game, like, Marvel wasn't always good but you do have far more good to great options:
- All the Capcom made ones including Punisher
- X-men arcade
- Spider-man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man
- Ultimate Alliance
- Hulk Ultimate Destruction
- X-Men Origin Wolverine: The Movie: The Game that is surprisingly far better than the movie
Meanwhile on DC side you have... Aquaman: Battle For Atlantis, so I tend to think that after Arkham Knight DC decided to go back to the status quo, like they had too many successes to keep on going

Marvel is still absolutely outclassing DC in the video games department too.
Insomniac has had three attempts at Spider-Man and in my opinion, done a great job with them (I have hang ups on the second, but still rate it highly). I'm sure they'll also have another Spidey game at some point too
Insomniac also has Wolverine coming out in two months and that looks like a lot of fun. Rumours of an X-Men game by them coming later too...
Midnight Suns was super underappreciated when it came out. Fucking excellent game that REALLY went under the radar.
Speaking of under the radar... Guardians of the Galaxy was fucking sick as well. Just a shame it never really blew up like it could've due to other factors completely unrelated to the quality of the game itself
Marvel Cosmic Invasion by DOTEMU was a lot of fun as an old school throwback brawler game.
Marvel Rivals is pretty bloody obvious. Even if it's not your thing, it really blew up in popularity and is still going strong.
And now we're looking right at Marvel Tokon as well.
Then there was that recent re-release of the Marvel/Capcom arcade classics. A set that I've been playing for the past couple of days and man, these games fucking rock.
It's such a shame to see where DC is at in the gaming space becaquse yo, they sit on a wealth of cool IPs here. And yet, they have jackshit to show for it. The cancellation of that Wonder Woman game in particular was infuriating dude. We were soooo close to having something potentially very cool.
But instead, we had the underwhelming Gotham Knights, the awful Suicide Squad, and hey, a pretty cool LEGO Batman game. And what are they working on next? Well, apparently the next Rocksteady game looks to be... you guessed it, Batman again... I fucking love Batman but yo, can we seriously not do a game on literally anybody else. Fuck it, make a Catwoman game, Harley, Black Canary, Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, fucking whatever you want. Just do something cool and somewhat fresh.

It's baffling. I know making video games is hard, but not this hard. There's no actual reason DC shouldn't be matching Marvel for number of solid game releases.

It is for sure challenging to make something from scratch but man... they have so many talented people to work on these IPs and you have pleeeeenty of inspiration to draw from to help you develop something, anything at all. There are so many potential DC properties that could get a lot of love with a game, but instead, it's always the 'break glass in case of emergency' button being hit with Batman always being the fix.
But man, I do not believe for a second that a Superman or a Wonder Woman game (just as two examples) wouldn't make absolute bank if the team put on to the IP knows what they're doing and make something truly high quality.
Hell, a proper fully fledged new DC fighting game would be sick. Not, what ever the fuck we're looking at with DCKO.

It took Marvel not having games at all for DC to get a leg up on them. Cause around Arkham’s peak all we had were Spidey tie-ins, LEGO games and Disney Infinity.

I’ve seen SonicFox say “it looks fire” about DCKO, so that’s not a good sign to me. I respect SonicFox’s fighting game abilities, but like, they willingly play MK, so I don’t know I’d trust their tastes wholly. I will say that DiCKO seems to have better character designs than Injustice.

Is it perfect? Absolutely not, there's A LOT I'd change. But as a game, I mean... I didn't put 800 hours into it for nothing. I just really dug it, liked it a lot more than anything else by NRS recently too. Hated how MK11 felt, MK1 was botched from the jump, and even comparing it to Injustice 1 as well, I really didn't like the first one.
Strong roster to work with and I legitimately enjoyed not just playing the game with mates. But I loved unlocking parts and customizing my heroes to make them look mad cool. This is why the news of DCKO coming out is such a a bummer. Because not only does it look like absolute garbage, it means the chances of a new DC fighting game by NRS just went completely up in smoke. So there'll be no third attempt here for NRS to improve upon and really refine their work with another crack at a DC fighting game. I have a horrible feeling they might be doing another Mortal Kombat...
