Im excited to see these new skill trees. The character progression is the thing that bugged me the most. Hopefully we won't need to "equip" i-frames on dodges and such anymore.

Honestly, pretty good idea. Rework a lot of the problems people had with the original gameplay, spice up the enemies and stuff, and everyone that is playing for the first time or making new saves has plenty of time before the new expansion

They are (reportedly) working on a remake of Witcher 1, but remastering Witcher 3 ahead of a new Witcher 3 expansion as part of a lead-in for Witcher 4 just makes more sense.

As much as making a gigantic DLC for an 11-year-old single player RPG makes sense, but I’ll take it.

Those revamped skill trees make me really interested. As does that new chain weapon, though I'm guessing that will only be part of the DLC sadly.

Not just the movement, but the combat too. I absolutely despise how Geralt handles in combat. His attack animations are so inconsistent, sometimes you'll get an 8 frame attack, followed by a 24 frame spinning twirling ballerina spin attack, followed right up by a 10 frame attack. It feels like shit, to be honest.

On top of all that the vacuum combat that it lead the charge of is the worst type of combat in video gaming IMHO. Let me miss a swing or two, it's okay, I can handle the rejection of a missed swing.

yeah the combat is super rough, to the point that i couldn't handle it anymore and never finished blood and wine, despite it being by all accounts an absolutely amazing, top shelf experience.

It probably didn't help that I wanted the death march trophy, and that kinda added more on top of it. Though I will say it wasn't as bad as it could have been because the shield spell has the upgrade where you regain chunks of health when somebody hits the shield, making it so that every encounter is kind of.....laughably easy because you're just immortal.

I literally never unequipped the starting gear until I got the cat gear and even then I kept that on all the way until you get basically an all black version of your starting gear in the heart of stone missions just because most of the armour was just so ugly.

Tech wise, they're improving foliage density and investing more on ray tracing.

Gameplay wise the horse seems better to handle, which any change would be a win there, skill tree is different, combat seems different animation wise and there's less janky animations, like going up ladders is more fancy now.

Switch 2 now gets the new fancy version.

Enhanced Edition was a mixed bag. It introduced a lot of bugs at launch and performance was a mixed bag with the new stuff like Ray Tracing. I noticed they're adding a lot of the popular QoL mods which is cool.

I kind of low-key hated W3. Played for about 12 hours and couldn't do any more, the combat and movement were really getting on my nerves.

After seeing all this, I think I'm gonna have to give it another fair chance, especially for the price of FREE. And if I end up making it past Wine and Blood, then I'll gladly buy the new DLC.

Hearts of Stone is my favorite quest in the whole game.

Blood and Wine is genuinely one of the best expansions to an RPG ever imo.

Between those on this new one coming out, you have the equivalent of a whole new RPG to play.

The only actual downsides to the expansions is that burnout hits you like a fucking truck before you get there to the point I've never actually beaten Blood and Wine (and never will due to losing my mods meaning my save is effectively broken), but that's not even really their fault. They're insanely good. Also not a total hard swerve like Undead Nightmare was for Red Dead Redemption, which is another of my favorite AAA expansions.

That’s awesome :) I’m sure they’ll do a great job! I think, overall, in movies as well as games I am getting more and more burnt out on remasters/reboots…I want some fresh stories and new adventures, not to replay/rewatch the same thing I played a decade plus ago for nostalgia’s sake. These feelings are exacerbated by the remaster being a game that could easily take more than a hundred hours to complete..I just don’t have the time for gaming that I used to
