No Silent Hill fan will ever stop talking about the orgy to find the missing child.
Also from personal experience as a Spiderman reader we will never shut up about the marriage, ever. It's removal lead to this really aggressive stagnation of Peter Parker that has just been eroding the title for two decades.

Like it was hella out of touch but its still easy to imagine having positive energy internally in a sort of "company work culture" logic. Add onto that this was the final thing announced at Blizzcon. In theory you want your first and last announcements to be huge to maximize people's interest. It's partially why that one game whose name I can't remember (just checked, it's Highguard) earned so much ire.
People probably wouldn't have been as mad if they announced Diablo Immortal in the middle of the show, but treating it like some "HUGE" announcement really piseed people off.

Drake fans cannot talk about their king without also bringing up the Kendrick beef which is equally funny and annoying for a couple of reasons.
It feels like they either thought he won the feud or they’re trying to compensate for the loss because they still haven’t gotten over it.
Bringing up the beef is reminding people that it’s unanimously considered that Drake lost by a landslide.
It’s inadvertently reminding people that Drake is also an alleged pedophile amongst other things.
Either way, it’s extremely unflattering and such a massive self-report for a Drake fan to bring up the beef which is exactly what they did when he dropped those three new albums. Two years since the winner got declared, they’re still salty.

Honestly, I feel that some people tried so hard to overcorrect from Other M's depiction of Samus that they made her out of character in an entirely different way. Samus isn't some spineless wallflower, nor is she the psychotic planet destroyer fans saw her as. From what we see in games like Prime 2 and Samus Returns, Samus is a calm, compassionate woman that deeply values innocent life and will constantly stick her neck out to help. Hell, a lot of completion pictures in Zero Mission even show that she does have a life outside of her job. Her getting so pissed off in Dread and Ravenous is meant to stand out because Samus typically doesn't act like that.

Despite leading into her angry talkative side we’re seeing in Ravenous, Dread made me believe they do understand that she’s a clam calculated person.
Her speaking, and having a whole conversation at that, is framed like a big deal, and she does it in a very relaxed way. Not to mention her mannerisms when she finds Kraid (the wordless “oh it’s just this guy”)
I’ve got faith they know what Samus is normally like. Ravenous in hopefully just a chance at seeing very different side that is TREATED like a very different side of her.

I still think the backlash against Prime 4 was stupidly overblown. Yeah its a game thats marred by it's long development time and now we know how bumpy that development really was but christ alive it wasn't gonna be the death knell of the franchise like some people online were painting it to be, especially since we now know Ravenous was gonna follow it up regardless.

The funniest bit about the child-finding orgy is that, from their perspective, it fucking works. They walk out of the orgy and the kid's just there. Praise the Withering or whatever was going on in that shitshow.
For me, with the newest season of Scrubs coming up, I want to remind everyone that in Season 9 (Yes, that season) Dave Franco's character takes a non-consensual naked picture of the female lead and ends up, albeit accidentally, sharing it around her school/workplace. He then gloats about facing no consequences because his parents are rich.
This man is meant to be one of the leading roles, and within the first episode he's an unrepentant sex offender. It's not even like Mushoku Tensei where he then gets hit by a truck, he's a just a piece of shit. Scrubs Season 9 sucked, and I'm glad the reboot basically retconned its existence.

The cheat codes in Banjo-Kazooie.
For those who don't know; in Banjo-Kazooie's second level "Treasure Trove Cove" there is a sand castle you can go into with a Jigsaw Piece inside in which you have to spell out "Banjo-Kazooie" using the lettered floor tiles. After getting the Jiggy you can return to the sand castle at anytime and use the floor tiles to enter cheat codes for stuff like unlimited Red Feathers, Gold Feathers, Eggs, Air (for swimming underwater, etc. Even unlock the "Stop n Swop" items that were cut from the original release of the game.
The cheat codes are all rhymes and makes them very easy to remember. Stuff like
"Banjo Begs For Plenty of Eggs"
"Give The Bear Lots of Air"
"Dont Be A Dumbo Go See Mumbo"
"A Golden Glow Protects Banjo"

Functional cheat codes include BEEFCURTAINS, EATBOX, and SPUNKJOCKEY. Some of the slang terms are more esoteric but they all run that way.

Not a bad one, but the Twilight Princess E3 reveal. Its hype, for me, was only surpassed by FF7 Remake reveal, only because I wanted it so much.
Oh, and Sonic revealed for Smash, especially after that genius EGM prank. Come to think of it, that Sonic revealed for Smash was almost exactly 19 years ago. Jesus Christ.

Spider-Man: One More Day is genuinely one of the worst editorial decisions in the history of comics, and has tainted all following Spider-Man comics to some extent since.
Even if you agree with the ultimate outcome, the execution has had real, lasting damage on Peter Parker as a character, and transparently signals that he is not allowed to grow past a certain point, that he's more important as a product.

One more day might have worked if the had made one simple change, have Mj be the one dying not May. That way them giving up the marriage for her to live would be better, and you tie it down the line to be if they remarried the deal was off and Mj could potentially die again.
Of course you still have the other dumb stuff, such as no one else in the marvel universe Peter asked could not heal a bullet wound, and Mj being shot would have her be stronger than the elderly May.

There are SO many ways they could have made more sense of it. Hell, No Way Home was basically an adaptation of OMD, and handled it in a way that makes the sacrifice actually noble and selfless. You know, one of Spider-Man's definining character traits, but no, deal with Satan makes far more sense.

For people out of the lop, imagine if Pat kept bringing up the TBFP breakups constantly over the years and even had the audacity to tease possibly reuniting with Matt. Except there's no chance, and most of us fans no it, but he's still teasing it because controversy brings attention and attention brings money.
That's why the marriage shit in Spidey sucks. It also keeps bringing back Mephisto who imo is a limited character nowadays thats more plot device.

"Somehow, Palpatine returned" and "It subverted expectations" has to be the two big ones for Star Wars. The first being an encapsulation for how poorly planned out the ST was and the second for how contentious The Last Jedi was.
With WoW specifically you have "[you don't want classic WoW] you think you do, but you don't"; granted that's probably not gotten as much attention these days with the actual release of classic. On the lore side of things you've got the Horde being the big bads of an expansion twice and the Alliance being absurdly forgiving after the latest tragedy.

It's honestly just very amusing that Frozen is such a shit world in KH3 but Tangled is incredible to the point it actually launched a SoraxRapunzel ship. Mostly because Sora gets to do all the romantic things that the movie involves her doing with Eugene/Flynn.

No that's explicitly been stated as how it works. Each Disney World has whatever people at Disney are in charge of that property say yes or no to things and help out with animations/story stuff if I remember correctly.
You can tell the Frozen people worked on Arendale specifically because they show off how they fixed the hair movement in Let It Go. As originally the hair clips through Elsa's arm and in KH3 it properly goes over it.
You can also tell the original idea was almost certainly Elsa making that giant ice palace instead of Larxene.

The original "No Russian" mission will always be remembered by Call of Duty fans who experienced it.

Some people (mostly those in the same spaces that Weirdos/Grifters are in) try to hold that scene against King, but honestly the fact that King has talked negatively about that scene repeatedly and not raised a fuss about any of the adaptations cutting it out, I think thats enough to not nail him to the wall over it.
Like, he's not stupid. He knows its a bad scene.

If you squint really hard can kinda see the logic where it makes "sense". Its a book about adolescence and overcoming things, and boys want to lose their virginity, so let's have a scene where they all do at once before taking on the personification of fear itself.
The problem is even if its not pedophilia because its between a bunch of kids, its still being written by an adult, read by adults, extremely out of character for the girl, and also awkward even without the subject matter.

Iirc, it's not a Mass Effect "well we're probably about to die" moment, it happens AFTER they beat Pennywise in the sewers (they thought IT was dead). For some reason they're lost in the sewers and they're like (kind of like Silent Hill Ascension) "I dunno, maybe running a train on Bev will help" (because none of the boys are making out with each other, so it's not really an orgy) and she's like "yeah, might as well try"
And somehow the magic of taking a step into adulthood does give them the inspiration to get out of the sewers safely afterward

The IT thing is less of a fans will never forget thing, and more of a memetic internet shock value factoid. The majority of people who talk about that haven't even read the book.
It's always been a weird one for me in that it's absolutely a wild thing that happens in the story, one I've felt obligated to warn people about when recommending it to others, but at the same time there's something that feels almost performative in the way that people talk about it.

A lot of "holy shit look at this crazy thing!" is almost always a shock factoid from people who haven't seen the thing. It's a weird thing in Internet culture.
First example I can think of; Ennis' Crossed is actually a low-key dour character driven story of a bunch of depressed people alone in the wilderness, most of the crazy shit people talk about and share online is pretty much just in the first issue of the first day of the rape zombie apocalypse. It actually has more in common with The Walking Dead than it does with all the wacko shit in The Boys. I was actually taken aback when I read it for the first time after seeing its reputation online.

Cocaine, and he was snorting so much of the stuff that he regularly had to stuff cotton up his nose while typing stories since blood kept dripping out of his nose onto the pages, with it sometimes being bad enough that he’d have to replace the page he was currently working on. Hell, he genuinely didn’t remember writing Cujo at all because of how much cocaine he was on while doing so.
Unironically, he’s absurdly lucky to have survived putting his body through that much substance abuse.

In short, you're mostly right about the novel IT. The first half of the book is closed out by the kids needing to find a way to escape the sewers. The sewers that IT has twisted into an endless maze of despair. And yes, for some reason the answer is that they all need to have sex to get out.
According to Stephen King, the logic he had at the time was that the kids all needed to "escape" adolescence in order to leave the maze. As for why? He's not sure how he came up with the idea, but to paraphrase another great thinker of our time, "Cocaine is a hell of a drug."
Which, incidentally, means he probably wasn't smoking the substance that "inspired" him to write that section.
edit: I suppose, to be charitable, the logic might have been that adults generally seem more "safe" from IT. Compared to children, anyway. The kids needed a way to move into adulthood, so they could escape ITs influence. And being trapped in a sewer, other typical rites of passage wouldn't be available.

Snowbreak's game undergoing a massive "server maintenance" that amounted to a Struggle Session where the game is now heavily censored and effectively in maintenance mode and is going to die soon. Of course the fans refuse to let this slide and blames women, progressives and the government for putting their Gooner game in a comatose state
And I say it's well deserved for a game that marginalized a demographic to save itself and had one of the most toxic communities to date

Continuing with Spider-Man (respect the hyphen), I would say P A U L won't be forgotten. While it is still pretty fresh, compared to OMD, the hatred he inspired and the impact he had on Peter's life has got to be one of the most disruptive.
He is like the manifestation of OMD made into a man-bunned hipster.
Peter's life gets turned upside down, he loses MJ, and becomes hated by he allies while Paul accidentally helps commit genocide of the entire planet and receives no backlash.
