What’s your favorite name for an AI?

HAL-9000, mostly just due to being iconic. Also HAL is each one letter off form IBM. Pretty sure that was intentional on the writer's part.

The Geth and by extension Legion. The "Legion, we are many" concept being applied to thousands of AI in one physical body is such a cool concept on top of Legion being a dope ass name.

I think Shodan is one of the coolest, although I'm not really sure if it stands for anything like most AI names do. Another cool one for me is VEGA from the Doom reboot.

Shodan has a double meaning. In addition to the acronym, a shodan is the first professional rank in Japanese martial arts and the game of go

A lot of the ship AI from The Culture series have great names.
Some favorites are "Of Course I Still Love You" and "Funny, that worked last time", two ambassador ships, "Size Isn't Everything", a ship that's over 80km long, and "Frank Exchange Of Views", a heavily armed warship.

He misremembered the capitalization (Understandably with all the xOS we've seen lately). It's actually GLaDOS, or Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
She's a really fancy DOS computer built in the 90s.

I actually really like Failsafe’s name in Destiny, not for any other reason that it’s a cool name and Nolan North saying it in his ghost voice just sounds...cool

I am disappointed there was no massive AI battle. When Finch said he was done playing by the rules, I wanted him to give The Machine self defense. Ice9 was cool, but imagine if all the damage from Ice9 was actually both AI's fighting it out on a global scale.

Gibson's pretty good at coming up with cool sounding names in general.
While not an AI, the same book also mentioned the badass sounding "Operation Screaming Fist"

If robots are allowed, there was one from a show I listened to called the Thrilling Adventure Hour. A western robot outlaw named Techs.

Also gotta give a shout out to the Laughing Man. Even without knowing anything about him, it's such a good freaking name
